In the full moon night, is it okay for me to open my eyes and hold you?

"Wow! What is this place?" Mark spun around, amused at his surroundings.
"Seoullo 7017," I said happily, "I can't believe you've never been here."
He chuckled, "I've been so busy, I didn't even know something like this existed here!"
A kilometer long, old, unused highway. Redecorated with trees and plants to create a beautiful street. The fast cars in the below expressway worked as background noise to the romantic atmosphere of the road. Seoullo was one of those places where you could go to think and feel at peace.
We walked along the path slowly. Taking our time to admire the view.
"We have to enjoy this while we can you know," I spoke up. He looked at me, puzzled. "You'll debut soon. We won't be able to hang out like this then."
"Ah... I guess you're right," he placed his hands in his pockets, "or... we could just wear masks and hats." We both laughed at his idea, wishing it were always that simple.
As we kept walking we saw little fireflies dance in the warm air near the trees.
"Woah, how's that even possible? Don't they live in near water?" I shrugged at his question, not able to explain the event. "Maybe they just wanted to make our day better," I smiled. The small lightning bugs flew up and around us, lighting up the sky like little, floating stars.
"I'm sorry," he suddenly said, making my head turn quickly to face him.
"Why?"
He looked down. An apologetic smile gracing his features, "I thought today would go differently. I j- I wanted to have a nice time, but that crying baby... and the restaurant... it's just..." he stopped walking, finally looking me in the eyes, "I'm sorry."
A small chuckle escaped me. He looked at me confused, which only lead me to giggle again.
"Why are you laughing? Stop, you're making me feel worse."
"You stop."
"W-what?"
I controlled my laugher so I could speak, "stop apologizing." His expression stiffened, looking at me with wide eyes. "Yeah, a couple things did go wrong today, but that doesn't matter to me." The mood quickly started to change. My laugher came to a complete stop as I let myself say all the things I was thinking, "What matters is that I got to spend time with you, Mark. I really like spending time with you. Talking to you, dancing with you, even just looking at you. I like you, Mark. So, I don't care if today wasn't perfect."
His expression had changed completely. A look unknown to me appeared on his face.
Oh no. What did I do? I shouldn't have said I liked him. I ruined everything, didn't I?
"Seyeon." I got snapped out of my thoughts. "Can I kiss you?"
Shock overtook me. He wants to kiss me? I remained paralyzed. I tried to speak, to tell him yes, to make any sound that showed what I meant, but nothing came out.
He stood there, his silhouette perfectly engulfed in the blue LED lights of the street. His face a lot closer to mine than at the beginning of our conversation. He had slowly made his way up to me. Taking small steps, without me even knowing. He shined against the moonlight as we were only inches apart. I felt heat overwhelm my face as I nodded slowly, not able to even finish the small gesture before his lips were planted on mine. His sweet, delicate, beautiful lips.
Nothing else mattered in that moment. It was only us in that long road. Fireflies dancing around us under the night sky as our lips molded together in a perfect rhythm. Through my head ran the melodies of every time, every thought, every song where I had felt this happy. Nothing. Nothing compared to being in his arms.
He placed both his hands on my face, slowly breaking the kiss, but still holding me close, "I like you too. I like you so much, Seyeon."
I could only smile at his words. My heart directing the fluttering feeling through my body as he kissed me again.
That night we took the subway home. The same old subway where we first met. Only this time we sat together. Hand in hand. Sharing headphones, listening to a new song. The new beautiful song that would be us.
