Sera watched as the two brothers spoke quietly, she almost didn't in fear she was overstepping but Rick insisted on her being able to listen noting how she'd probably hear it anyways.
She could see the tenseness between them but it fizzled away as Henry pulled out a board game which seemed to make Rick glow delightfully, so the three of them played together after Rick said she simply must join them.

At first, it started off quietly, them playing and barely speaking but soon fits of laughter filled the hospital. Many of the nurses and patients smiled at them while others scoffed seemingly wanting to drift into silence,

Sera barely laughed but did grin every now and again until at last the game was over.

"Aww, man! I could've won ya know if I didn't let Henry haha!"
"Sure you could've Lil' bro."
They chuckled and playfully nudged each other while she sat there and watched, despite all that happened to Rick because of Henry they still managed to be brothers and care about each other.

She considered if that's what it would be like for her and Elle if she managed to fix whatever was broken, she didn't even know how to start.
It was like trying to solve a puzzle with missing pieces,
Throughout their childhood, she always thought of them as good friends.

"—Sera!"
Her head perked up, "H-huh?"
"About time! I called your name like six times, what were you thinking so deeply about?"

She glanced at Henry who when he finally noticed got up and left them alone for privacy, she turned to face Rick.
"I was just thinking about Elle, I don't know how to even start repairing our bond..."

"Well, maybe it would be a good idea to ask her next time she's around?"
Before Sera could reply Henry came back with some cans of fizzy drinks, although they weren't exactly allowed this sort of thing they managed to hide it whenever a nurse came clicking about in her high heels.

Then Henry turned to Sera and asked carefully,
"So Sera, what...what are you in here for?"

Rick elbowed him making him yelp and rub his waist, they both saw her eyes grow darker as if a light had just been snuffed out, even though Rick had asked before he didn't want to persist her.

"I was in a car accident a while ago, on my way to my mother's house during a storm but I slid off the road and woke up in the hospital,"
She took a moment to recall exactly what had happened before carrying on,
"They told me I had hit my head and that I should prepare myself for the worst..."
Rick cleared his throat.

"Well, it ain't that bad! You're in a warm bed with breakfast and dinner served on a tray! You're living like a princess without all the duties haha!"

Her lips tugged up a little bit,
"I have two days left."
