The phone fell from her fingers onto the bed, it felt like the world had just stolen a part of her. Elle wiped her eyes,

"S-she was the girl at the party..."

Her body felt ready to shut down and if it wasn't for her final wishes she would've fallen and just let the darkness take over,
Elle muttered through tears.
"I-I didn't even realise it was your old friend...I thought she looked familiar at the party but...oh Sera I'm so sorry!"

Pip didn't understand but tears fell down his cheeks while Rick held him close to his chest, Sera realised then that the nurse and doctor talking earlier were talking about Jen.
Her fist clenched the blanket before wiping the tears from Elle's face,
"I need you to be strong now."
She gave a nod before wiping her nose and holding Sera's hand, Sera pointed to her bag in the corner.

"Can you pass me the phone in my bag, I need to do something."

When the phone was in her trembling fingers after weeks of not being touched she opened the message to her mother, fumbling with her unadjusted fingers.
'To Mum:
Hey mom, it's been a long time since we last spoke...I know you blame me for dad's death in the car wreck...I want you to know I love you. I wish the best for you, please look after Elle when she comes to you...goodbye.'

Nothing could stop her, she sent the text and grabbed her sister,
"Help me up, we're leaving."
They all chimed in,
"Wait what?!"
"Elle, please...just help me up. You two,"

She gazed at the boys before smiling softly,
"Don't forget okay?"
They tried to protest but she was already hauling herself into the wheelchair, taking the needle out of her arm.
"Use the backdoor, trust me."

She questioned at first before following her instructions and leaving the hospital, the last thing Sera did in the hospital was mouth to them;
'look under your pillows.'

Which they did, she almost wished she could've stayed to see their reaction.
"Where are we going?"
"To the Green."
By the time they arrived at the grassy mountain, it was already sunset, Sera could feel her breath contracting and her chest tightening.

She pointed to a slope,
"Do you remember this sister?"
"Yes...our old hill, why are we—"
"Come, sit."

They sat on the grass together, the breeze running up Sera's gown making her shiver. Her head on Elle's lap finally able to rest,
"Elle?"
"Yes?"
"I love you."
"I...love you too, is everything okay?"

Sera smiled content and played with a blade of grass,
"Sera...Jen had this...it was for you."
"Read it to me please..."
"'Sera, thank you for everything. Take care, see you on the other side.'"

Sera felt a tear roll down her cheek before taking Elle's hand giving it a kiss.

Finally falling into her own sleep, never to wake again.
