When the sunlight filled the hospital rooms it was almost blinding, only Sera was awake.
Her mind had been filled with thoughts of Jen and the baby she eluded to.
Sera didn't know if what she had asked about was truly about Jen but she had an inkling, She watched as the clock began its steady beating of ticks.

It was finally here, a normal day for all others yet to her it was the final day to make things right.
She glanced at the soft-faced boy curled up in bed snoring softly before turning to the heavy snoring man with one leg crossed over his blanket, it was oddly comforting to see them so still and quiet.
Leaning over to brush the hair from their faces her heartfelt content with her final wishes that were placed gently under both of their pillows.

She glanced around at her surroundings, the people of all ages in one room and most of them really sick.
Although there was one thing she really wanted to do she probably had to wait for Jen to come back to work to get it since other nurses weren't as lenient as she is.

So she waited, she could actually feel the strength in her body be sapped little by little. Her impending death.

"Did you hear...?"
She overheard a doctor whisper to a nurse,
"Hear what?"
"About one of our staff...?"
"No, why? Wha—"

"Good morning Nightingale!"
She jumped at the sound of Rick's voice, her face flushed with heat.
"G-good morning!"
He chuckled,

"Imitating Pip huh?"
"What? Oh! No haha nope! Just thinking..."
"About?"

She cocked her head at him with a raised eyebrow and his smile faded,
"Right. Today is...Sera?"
"Yes?"
He took a deep breathe in.
"I have something to tell you."
"Okay?"
"I—"

Pip squeaked a good morning before Rick could finish and he didn't bother continuing, he instead grinned and sat up.
"Perhaps we could play a game before you become an angel?"
Her grin got wider and she nodded, Pip though focused on the weird rustling under his pillow but stopped when seeing Sera's hair.

"S-sera?"
"Yes?"
"C-could I braid your h-hair? I want y-you to be the p-prettiest angel in heaven."

She felt her cheeks grow sore but nodded with her smile and waited for her braid only hoping to see Elle soon.
It was early but she couldn't wait to see her and only wished time would speed up, but began to play with her friends to pass the time anyways.

After what felt like only an hour or two she saw her face, but it wasn't smiling.
Her face was twisted and red, with tears running down her cheeks.

"Elle? What's wrong?"
"Sera..."
She fell into Sera's arms and sniffed,
"Elle?"

A phone was thrust into Sera's hand, the news was highlighted and she scrolled down. A picture of Jen on a stretcher,

'Jennifer Litany...Overdose...Pregnant...'
'Dead.'
