Date?

Ryujin meant to go home after her talk with Heejin, but that was before the discussion actually started. Now, she was confused, concerned, even. She needed another opinion as quickly as possible, because she's almost certain she accidentally scored herself a date with one of her best friends. Needless to say, it felt weird.

She drives straight from the school's parking lot down the road to Chaeryeong's house, already feels bad about burdening the latter with her problems, especially on short notice, but since this has to do with Heejin, Chaeryeong is the only person she can turn to. She can't really go to Heejin to talk about Heejin. That just wouldn't work. And Hyunjin? Well, they rarely talk about things like this. Besides, knowing where Hyunjin's feelings stand, it'd be insensitive to ask her for help. If Ryujin were to go by that specific group of hers, she'd consider Jiu too, but they're not as close as they used to be.

Ryujin spends five minutes at the door before choosing to knock directly on her friend's window. Eventually, it does work, although the glare she receives when she finally gets Chaeryeong's attention isn't exactly the most pleasant to be on the opposite end of. "What could you possibly need from me?"

"It's about Heejin."

"What about Hee— " Chaeryeong cuts herself off, removes her headphones in order to listen better. It's rare Ryujin's serious when talking about Heejin. "Never mind. Just come around the side and I'll open the door for you."

"I'm already next to the window. I might as well just come in through here." Ryujin sticks one leg through the open space, ducks her head and pulls herself in.

"It wouldn't have taken much to walk around."

"I just came from practice. I'm exhausted."

"No, you just came from something that had to do with Heejin. Your practice was before that." The youngest lays flat on her stomach against her bed, hands pressing against her face. "What happened?"

"It's a little hard to explain, but... " Ryujin decides to sit on the floor since she hasn't showered. She leans her back up against the wall, her knees bent upward with both hands resting on them. She wishes her brain gave her a chance to relax because, as of late, her mind was a mess of thoughts. "She asked me out."

"She WHAT? When??"

"Today— well, sort of, I think. She— Ryeongchae!" Her eyes grow wide as soon as she catches sight of a pillow soaring in her direction, colliding into her face. "What was that for?!"

"You can't just say someone asked you out and then say you think they did. It's a yes or no question."

Ryujin narrows her eyes at the girl now sitting up on the mattress, huffs in annoyance. "And you have to hit me with a pillow because of that?!"

"Yes. We're talking about Heejin of all people. It would be nice if you could explain things correctly." Chaeryeong's brows meet in the center of her forehead. "What am I missing? What did she say before that?"

The oldest repositions her body, rests her head against the wall to figure out how she should word her response. She's being cautious, doesn't want something like a shoe thrown at her, or worse, the lamp she's been threatened with before.

"I was talking to her about Yeji, but some things during the conversation felt, I don't know... off. Unusual."

"Care to provide an example?"

"I started to describe how I felt and she would tell me that she understood how I was feeling. To lighten up the conversation I asked her who the lucky girl was. But she was quiet and changed the subject."
