Ryujin lay in her girlfriend's bed with her hands behind her head, patiently waiting for the brunette to finish getting ready for school. She thought about all that's happened up till this moment, concluded that all the good and the bad in between was worth what she has right now. It warmed her heart to be able to use words like us and we.

"Got something on your mind?"

She grinned at the sound of her favorite voice as Yeji walked in, taking a seat on the edge of the mattress. Yeji pressed a kiss on her cheek before reaching over to put on her shoes.

"Just you," Ryujin leaned up and hopped off the bed, hoisting Yeji's foot to rest it against the fabric that covered her thigh, then began tying the laces.

"I'm capable of tying my own shoes, you know."

"Shh, you're too slow."

"Are we in a rush?"

"Not necessarily."

They're not. On the contrary, they have more than enough time to get where they need to be. However, Ryujin's still trying to cope with the news about her grandmother. So, she's opted to use any available distraction to ease her nerves.

Done with the task, Ryujin stood up and held out her arms. "Hug?"

"Someone's a little clingy today." With no reason to decline, Yeji wrapped her arms around her girlfriend, thoughts surrounding Ryujin's behavior. After withdrawing, she noticed something was missing next to the door. "Any chance you know where I put my bag?"

"It's in my car."

"Did I really take that long??"

"No. I just thought it would make it easier."

"But... it's just two bags." Yeji's brows meet in the middle. "Why would that make it easier?"

"So I can do this."

With a guess in mind of what was about to happen, Yeji tried retreating, but her thoughts slowed her down. Before she knew it, her partner had scooped her up.

Yeji held on like her life depended on it. She's slowly been getting used to this jump scare. Still, without warning it terrified her. "Tell me first!"

"Where's the fun in that?" Ryujin chuckled. With the brunette in her arms, she walked out of the bedroom. She'd have gone further if a particular principal by the counter wasn't present.

Impulsively, Ryujin set her girlfriend down, afraid Mama Hwang disapproved of her behavior. Yeji, confused, wondered what caused this until she caught a glimpse of her mother. She laughed and walked over to the kitchen, assuming the other would follow behind. "Hey, mom."

"Good morning, hun."

"How come your still home?"

"I have another meeting at the district building. I'm also making sure she gets you where you need to be." Mama Hwang looked directly at Ryujin. "In case that's not clear, that means school."

"I'll have you know that's exactly where we're headed." Yeji crossed her arms and set her sights on Ryujin, who was standing near the fridge. Somehow, she managed to get the frightened athlete's attention, so she nudged her head toward Mama Hwang.

Wide-eyed, Ryujin hurriedly cleared her throat. The silent message was clear. "G- good morning, Miss Hwang."

"Morning, Shin. Get going before you're both late."

"Y- yes, ma'am."

Yeji smiled, terming this instance as progress. She bid her mom goodbye while the younger waved awkwardly, swallowing the lump in her throat.
