"Faster!"
"Am I not going fast enough?"
"If we don't hurry up, we're going to be late!"
"Alright, okay. I'm walking as fast as I can."
Both girls speed through the halls, the brunette's hands clasped onto the other's, tugging her along from behind. They're in a hurry to turn in the project that they've quite literally just rushed to finish prior to their arrival.
Somehow the oldest manages to maneuver them through the crowds of students gathered near their designated rooms. While Yeji focuses on the need to turn in this project that's worth a hefty portion of their grade, Ryujin questions why the school finds the need to have such bright lights on the ceiling. She figures this newfound annoyance is due to her lack of sleep, though. After all, despite it being her car, she allowed Yeji to drive them to school this morning for that reason.
Finally at their destination, they enter and deliver it to their instructor, who, in return, addresses a few things he finds pleasant. He delivers compliments regarding their effort, stating it looks wonderful and that the idea is unique since no other group has done something like it. Yeji merely bows her head to show some gratitude, mumbling a quiet thank you, and nudging a sleepy Ryujin to do the same. She knows their work could've been much better if they hadn't forgotten, but she keeps that bit to herself.
On their way back down the hall they came, the athlete continues to rub her eyes, and now that Yeji is no longer fretting about their project, she's able to focus on Ryujin, finding her girlfriend's sleepiness rather adorable.
It's dark, which makes sense because it's late into the night, roughly three in the morning, to be exact. Both girls accidentally fell asleep during a movie, Ryujin knocking out way before Yeji ever did, which was expected of the latter. Yeji, on the other hand, didn't predict she herself would fall asleep so soon. The only justification she came up with was the warmness of her girlfriend's body against hers left her so comfortable that she got drowsy.
Now, however, she's not asleep. Now she's wide awake even with her eyes shut, probably a consequence of napping earlier in the day. She didn't exactly favor those types. More often than not, she'd end up staring at her ceiling in the middle of the night and have trouble falling asleep afterward.
She kicks her feet, attempting to get the blanket to cover the right half of her body that's apparently uncovered, then turns over, her eyes opening again. She blinks a few times to adjust her vision to the low lighting in the room. She had her back faced to Ryujin, so she turns, nearly snickering at the sight. It appears the athlete got rather comfortable herself, limbs sprawled out. That sure explains where most of the blanket has gone.
'Cute~ ' Yeji thinks. Assuming she won't be sleeping for a while, she reaches over toward the nightstand and taps Ryujin's phone screen. It's blinding at first, but once her eyes adjust again, she learns they have about five hours until school starts.
Yeji turns over again, placing a palm gently against Ryujin's cold cheek. The moonlight scarcely peeking through the blinds shines rows of perfect lines, several of which are highlighting the younger's face.
'How can someone be so beautiful?' She wonders, a warmth settling in the center of her chest, until, suddenly, it's replaced with fear. Realization hits and Yeji begins panicking instantly. They've forgotten all about the project yesterday.
Her body shoots up, and she shakes her girlfriend, eager to get her attention. They can't screw this up. If they do, her mother might never come around. "Ryujin!"
