"Whilst every other reporter will have something to say about Supergirl and what she both does and doesn't stand for, we do things differently here." Andrea explains.
"It gives us an opportunity to talk about something different when the media is only focused on one topic at a time. I want you to write a article on Obsidian, advertising technological advances and how Obsidian succeeds with that."Kara looks up from the printer that she was stood by, waiting patiently for her article to be checked over with Andrea.
She turns her head looking conflicted as she overhears Andrea talking to you..."But don't you think that Supergirl being there for National city is more of a bigger deal?" Kara intervenes.
"Compared to Obsidian, which I agree, is very advanced, however there's been soo many people that have been given the task to advertise it, that it's been ingrained in the public's memory at this point." Kara explains further as she pushes up her glasses.Andrea stares to her desk and thinks to herself for a minute. She looks up at Kara in an agitated manner.
"Fine, y/n. Your first article here will be about Supergirl and the impact that she has on National city as a whole."
"I'll get right to it." You say with a smile. As you face away from Andrea, you mouth the words "thank you." Over to Kara. As you walk past her, she stops you by gently pressing her hand on your shoulder "no problem." Kara laughs whilst whispering and then bitting her lip.
- A few hours later...
You decide to have your lunch break. Just as you pull out a sandwich wrapped poorly in foil, you open up one end. -
"Hey!"
"Oh, hello again." you reply in an enthusiastic tone.
"There's a café nearby, and me and my friend Nia were going to go get something for lunch. We were wondering if you wanted to join us."
Nia looks over (as she's sat at her desk that is nearby Kara's) and engages with a small smile sitting up a little from her chair, with her face barely over her computer."I'm afraid I've got to watch my money." You say softly. On the inside your heart breaks because you don't know what it is, but you just want to be around Kara. She's just soo confident, bright and kind, yet you haven't even known her for that long.
"Well, if you do want to come along, then I can pay for you."
"Are you sure?"
"I would rather that you had more than just a small sandwich for lunch." You both laugh, whilst Nia grins sweetly. She gets up from her desk:
"Are we off then?" Nia asks "I'm starving."
Along the other end of the street is a small, compact restaurant that looks fairly busy. You realise how much more cluttered it is here, compared to the small town you used to live in. That place is miniscule compared to this city.
The restaurant (apart from the intense amount of people) looks fairly cosy will the walls painted a warm, honey colour along with chestnut, brown chairs, and the welcoming sweet smell of cakes that are presented below the till in a glass cabinet. The three of us look around for a empty table. Instead you follow Kara and Nia as they've noticed a table with four seats, but one is occupied. It's taken by a lady, sat crouched with her legs apart and her hands joined together as she sighs whilst looking around her.
"Hey, I've missed you guys." She greets Kara and Nia with a small smile followed by a hug.
"Oh and who did you bring along with you?" She asks intrigued whilst looking at at you.
