"Also, you're just in time. The pizza will be here any minute." Alex says happily.

Kara suggests that you sit down, so you sit on the short, gray sofa that's accompanied by cushions that are a lemon shade of yellow on one side, and a man on the other side. He's a lot taller than you and looks a bit older. He's sat with his arms stretched out along both sides of the sofa.
He notices you looking up at him...

"I'm John." He says with a small smirk as his left hand is in front of you.
"Y/n." You return the handshake and warm smile.

Alex gives John a soft nudge with her elbow.
"It's your turn." she smiles, looking to the Jenga tower to then glance back at him.
"Right, here I go." He crouched forward, pulling out one of the wooden bricks at bottom. He eases the piece out slowly as the tower starts to sway.
A powerful scattering sound follows as the bricks are piled, untidily along the glass table and carpet. Along with everyone loudly dissapointed for John. They then all chuckle amoungst themselves.

Kara pulls a green glass bottle that's yet to be opened from the fridge.
"It's not like you to have wine." Alex says in confusion.
"Yeah I know, but I just thought that it be a way to help celebrate. We have a new friend."
Kara gestures her hand over to you.
"...and things seem a little calmer than usual at the D -"

She gives a sudden pause before finishing her sentence.
"...Work."
She says whilst collecting large wine glasses from the cupboard and onto the kitchen surface. Alex still looks puzzled, but let's it slide. Kara offers everyone a glass as you all have a toast for being greatful that you all know one another, and get to be a part of each others lives.

Alex walks over to the kitken whilst Karas facing away, busy talking to the others. She notices that the liquid in the glass is a lighter colour, as apposed to the wine that's a dark beetroot colour that they usually get. It also had a strong scent. It smelt like garlic and olives. She frouns whilst flinching back at the stench. After lowering her eyebrows looking conflicted, she comes to a realisation. She thinks to herself.

'This isn't wine for humans.' -

Kara has more wine, compared to everyone else. Filling her glass over and over... And it starts to show.
Alex gets progressively more embarrassed for Kara, for each time she has more alcohol in her system. She knows what Kara's like when she's tipsy... Last time Kara had too much to drink; she started laughing at practically everything that everyone was saying, just to have an outburst of tears for an hour.

Kara sits in the armchair that's place on the wall next to the sofa. She's sat next to your end of the sofa.

She leans her elbow on the side, with her hand cupping the side of her face. She stares at you whilst playfully giggling as you progressively get more nervous.
"You have very beautiful hair."

She says in a childlike manner whilst continuing to giggling.
She separated a section of your hair, and gently runs her fingers through it whilst smiling at you innocently.
At this point, your not annoyed. However you feel embarrassed for Kara as she's pretty much hammered at this point.
"Um...Kara?"

Your words shake as you're left both surprised and speechless. Alex, John and Nia where in the kitchen at the time, discussing their concern for Kara. Alex looks over to see what's happening. Her face turns bright red, holding her hand in her face before rushing over.
She puts her arm around Kara's sholders and assists her up from the armchair as she stumbled before retaining her balance.

They both go over to the kitchen, as Alex talks to Nia and John briefly. Kara stands sloughed as Alex's arm around Kara to help her retain her balance, is replaced by Nia's. They go to the bathroom as Kara's face turns cold and pale.
Alex and John both walk over to you as you stand up from the sofa.
"We are soo sorry." Alex says with her cheeks still red from second hand embaressment. "Kara's not usually like this." John explains.
"I saw what happened, and I'm soo sorry if she made you feel uncomfortable in any way."

"It's okay. I understand that she had quite a bit to drink. I won't take it personally." You reply, kindly.

You realise that it's getting late. You thank Alex and John for the pizza and game night. They both smile, relieved as you head out of the apartment, in pitch black darkness, where the only clear thing that you can see are the stars. Just about being able to make out the outline of the car, you head home.
