"I'm y/n."
You hold your hand out to introduce yourself.
"I'm Alex. Kara's sister."
She grips your hand, and gives you a strong handshake whilst giving you a small smirk.
The four of you continue to talk for a while. The subject of Supergirl gets into the conversation and you talk about how you view her as a 'positive role model' as well as 'inspirational.' Kara's eyes look at you wide as she blushed whilst looking to the floor, smiling to herself for a moment.
You also bring up the article that you're writing about Supergirl. Kara explains that she's friends with Supergirl and is more than happy to arrange an interview between the two of you as source for your article.
"Is y/n coming over to game night?" Alex suggests.
"Game night?" You ask.
"It's Jenga and pizza tonight, It'd be nice if you could come." Kara replies.
"But I have to warn you, Kara gets super competitive." Nia says playfully as the whole table laughs.
"I'd love to come along." You say with a big smile.
Kara looks under the table, rolls her left sleeve up quickly and looks alarmed at her watch. She glances over to Nia and Alex and stutters in confusion for a split second as her eyes widen with urgency.
"Is everything okay?" You ask, concerned.
"I just got a text through... It's a family emergency, the three of us have got to go. Nia has to come with us. We're soo sorry." Alex explains.
"We'll see you tonight though, yes?" Kara says.
"That's okay, I'll see you then."
The three of them rush out of the restaurant in an panic, and sprint once they're out of the door.
You let out a small smirk thinking about seeing Kara later on today. Your heart races but you can't put your finger on why, since you haven't even spent the whole day together.
Over at the DEO -
"Supergirl. Alex. Nia."
A emotionless voice calls calmly from behind.
"There's a white martian nearby that's set fire outside Main Street." Lex explains.
Alex and Kara nod to each other at the same time. "We're on our way there."
Alex replied bravely before the three of them all rush out of the DEO and into the street.
They stop suddenly as tiny piles of concrete and ash roll out from in from of them. Once they are presented with waves and crackles from an uproar of amber and crystal blue: Camouflaged behind the spreading flames, is a pale, muscular creature. It disjointed it's jaw, letting out a screeching roar that echos down the street and shakes the ground violently. The three of them squint simultaneously and cover their ears.
Kara flies up above the flames as they spread and begin to get taller before she starts blowing over it with water.
Meanwhile, Nia stares at the Martian aggressively, whilst hit after hit... Makes it lose its balance. It attacks back fiercely with its claw, leading her to fall back, starring anxiously at the alien. It next aims and swings it's left claw at Alex, who rolls out of the way in perfect timing.
After the three of them tirelessly fight the Martian, it falls to the ground making heavy impact with the concrete. Alex talks through her earpiece, to have the DEO imprison the white Martian.
Outside Kara and Alex's apartment -
You repeat the address that Kara told you in your head, right up untill the minute you park your car. You stop outside a small, modern style complex. You walk up the steps and as you get closer and closer to Kara's side of the apartment, you can hear distant, muffled laughing. As you get to the room, you knock on the door gently, whilst stood patiently... Waiting for an answer...
"I'll get it!" A voice shouts in excitement.
"Hey!" Kara answers in a high pitch tone, with a big smile.
"I'm soo glad that you could join us." She continues, closing the door after you enter.
