Where did you go?

You get into the routine once again, where you want to spend each free minute together. Where you were, Kara was... Apart from when she had her family emergencies to see to. She never really talked much about that. It does make you wonder what's going on.

"So..." Kara gives you a beaming  smile whilst biting her lip, with her eyes looking hungry.
You laugh back sweetly as you lean the side of your cheek in your right hand looking wide eyed.
"Dinner again tonight?" She suggests.
"Sure."
"Actually... There's something I want to tell you." She stutters.
"Yeah sure, right now?" You ask casually, trying to keep it cool.

On the inside you feel your chest polpitating, making the assumption that how you feel is mirrored. 'am I on her mind as much as she is on mine?'

You give a subtle gulp as you collect your thoughts.

"Actually, I wanted to tell you tonight if that's okay. It's something very personal." Kara explains timidly.
"Sure." You smile back. "What time?"
"Say... Seven thirty?" She answers.

As you look away to continue with your work, you gaze at the computer lost in thought. Wondering if this really is Kara expressing how she's felt about you, or if you're just being irrational. You give your head a small shake and widen your eyes after your name is being called from the back office...

"Y/n." Audrea calls bluntly.
You turn to look at her suprised.
"How is the article on Supergirl coming along?" She questions, whilst resting her arm on the side of your desk, looking down at you.
"Good. I've almost finished it."
"Well I want you to update it and make it as relevent to her present events as possible. Especially leading up to right now."
"I will work on that right away." you nod whilst having a false grin, before getting back to work.

Time: 7:30pm

As Kara invites you in after giving a gentle knock on her apartment door, you both sit down on the sofa as she slowly opens up a thin cardboard box.

"I have been starving for some pizza all day."
Kara exclaims with a thin crust pizza slice, drooping whilst placed in her hand.
"Same here. Could you hear my tummy rumbling earlier?" You both laugh whilst she nods cheekily.
As you both make eye contact, you debate with yourself whether you should bring it up.
After you take a little bite out of your slice:

"What did you want to talk to me about earlier then?" You ask curiously.
"I have something that i wanted to tell you since I first met you." Kara explains softly whilst grasping both of your hands with hers.
"I'm -"

"Supergirl!" A low tone voice roars outside in the cold, dark street. As Kara lifts the cream coloured curtain up, her mouth opens in shock. Superman sways along the road consitantly calling Supergirl.

Kara races to the kitchen to grab a tall glass of orange juice, handing it to you carefully.

"Here have this, I've just got to go to the toilet. I'll be right back." She says sounding distressed.

After hearing the pitter patters of her running up the steps, you continue to spy on what's going on with Superman through the window. Supergirl lands behind him and shouts.

"You're not Clark. I don't know what you've done with him, but you're not my cousin." She snaps.
"I know you Kara. I know that your intentions are to pat your own ego. I though that more people would've realised that by now... Because of that, I'm going to take away your friends, your family all of your loved ones. One by one they'll realise who you really are." He whispers sharply, inching closer and closer to her face.

He flies up to Kara's window. It abliterates into tiny pieces, he holds you upright as he flies with you away from the window. Away from National City. As you look back, you see Supergirl in floods of tears. You can hear her distant screams and sobs, and see the city lights become blurry hues getting smaller and smaller.
You've been screaming uncontrollably at the top of your lungs for help.

Supergirl soars in the air to catch up with Superman before you see a white flash of light as your heart rate becomes soo intense that your chest hurts.
