After the three of you talk for a few hours, Alex goes to her side of the apartment to sleep. In the meantime, you and Kara cuddle up under the cover with popcorn and a film.

You wake up and struggle to open your eyes for a second since they feel heavy.

"Kara?" You mumble lazily.

You look over to notice a corner of the cover has been folded with the pillow having had been moved to an angle. You look over puzzled, before you realise.

"Oh shit, it's Friday! I forgot about work!"
You jolt up suddenly, racing through another morning to get there on time. On your way there, you text Kara:

'Kara where are you? I'm worried... I hope everything's okay.'

... She doesn't reply.

You get in your car and feel your heart pounding, going through the multiple scenarios that could've possibly resulted in her not texting back.

'What if she's in danger?' 'What if she's been injured during a mission?' 'What do I do if she doesn't turn up to work?'

Your thoughts spiral, and leave you breathless and panting. As you stop the car outside of the building and slam the door, you're rushing for Kara at this point... Not the usual fear of being late.

You notice Kara at her desk talking to Nia with a small smile.

"Kara, can I talk to you for a minute?" You ask in slight monotone.
"Sure." She replies happily.

As the two of you stand away from the desk, by the glass double doors that lead to the entrance of the floor, you question her.

"Why didn't you respond to my text earlier?"
"I was busy." She responds followed by a sharp glare.
You roll your eyes out of frustration.
"Babe, I was worried about you. I was on edge whilst driving here being scared that you wouldn't be in." You rant as your eyes begin to well up.

Kara holds your jaw with her palm and looks into your eyes with a comforting smile. Her deep crystal blue eyes looking back at you with safety. She fits her hand into yours, giving you a small kiss on the lips.

"It's okay, I'm okay y/n." She reassures you in a soft voice.

The moment is ruined by a grating voice storming out of the office and into the computer room.

"Y/n!"
"Yes Audrea." You reply shyly.
"L- corp. I want you to do some research and back it up with sources. If she's free, then I recommend speaking to Lena Luthor. Of course, as a reporter try not to make it bias or opinionated, but just as a formal piece on what L- corp is and what they're working on." She explains looking down at you.
"I'll work on that now."
"Good." She replies with a smug smirk before walking off peacefully.

You turn back to Kara with a deep breath.

"I know Lena, I can get an interview set up between the two of you."
You agree to go and get the interview done first. You've heard about Lena, and Kara's mentioned her a few times, but she was talked about in a specific way.
Lena was talked about like Kara and her were distant, like friends that moved away from each other to live in different cities.
Because of this, you felt unsure with wether you should treat Lena like Kara's friend... Or a co- worker.

The two of you head to the elevator. There's nobody else in there, sharing just a moment between the two of you, as you gently hold Kara's hand. As the elevator rises you look to each other and suddenly unravel your hands as the doors open.

You're presented to a transparent desk, which is emaciate. I don't think that you could find a speck of dust anywhere around this room. A beem of light is presented from a large window behind the silhouette of a woman in a tight black dress, typing away, looking mesmerised at the screen. Kara gently closes the door behind me.

"Lena..."
Kara interrupts quietly.
Lena glances up with her eyebrows raised.
"This is my partner and co- worker: Y/n. She was wondering if you had a few minutes spare for and interview."
You smile, looking down for a second. Since you've never been introduced as Kara's girlfriend before. You're cheeks turn rosey, whilst you timidly intervene.
"It's for an article on L- corp."
She nods, stopping to stare at you in somewhat of a trance.
"Yes, yes of course." Lena shakes her head slightly in hesitation, before sitting upright with broad shoulders, removing some of the folders from her desk before she's fully prepared for the questions.
