I walk into the forest, seeing the dirt pathway untouched. I sigh and hear the crunches of the soil continue as I look around. I then see a scared dog run up out of no where, I jump back a bit raising my bat. The dog makes a high-pitched crying noise, as I slowly lower my bat, I quickly kneel and place the bat away. I hold up my hand and let the dog sniff my scent, he then lets me pet him.
I quickly notice blood on his back leg, I tilt my head and look closer. I see multiple slits and pull out a small bandage roll. I wrap it around the wound and feel the dog shake, I quickly finish and lift up my mask a bit.
"See? Isn't that better?" He barks and I smile, I drop my mask down back onto my face and hear something. I turn around to see a man coming at me with a pitchfork, I gently push the dog back and dodge his attack. I snatch my bat and swing it, seeing him fall onto the ground. I flip my bat and bash his head in, seeing a brown-yellowish liquid spill out and bubble away. I watch the dog slowly limp up to me.
"I understand why you're afraid now. What the hell is going on here?" After stating the last sentence the dog sprints away. I quickly shake my head and carefully step over the body, I then continue following the path I was walking on.
I start to see a tall tower in the distance, I squint my eyes noticing it's a cathedral. I look over seeing signs circling around where I'm standing. I watch as flies roam around the dry blood and skulls. I'm guessing this is a warning to not enter this city--or island in general. I make a disgusted face as I pass the signs, hearing the multiple flies buzz into my ear. After all these years, you would think that bugs don't bother me anymore. I shake my head and quickly pass the signs, escaping the awful smell.
I swing my bat onto the shoulder and see an opening. It was a small gate, like something you would see in someones backyard. I push the door to slightly open more, hearing small squeaks erupt. I step through seeing villagers pile up at a house, I smirk and quickly take out my grappling gun. I look and see a tower, knowing I'll be able to climb up there if anything happens. I scroll my eyes down and see a ladder, I then shove the gun away.
I turn to the left and see a villager in front of my face, he then yells Spanish for others to hear. I watch all the other villagers depart from the house and start making their way toward me. I sigh and watch the villager come at me with a pitchfork, I swing my bat and block the thing from going into my neck. I flip my bat and smack it into his head, seeing his body fall. I turn and run lifting my legs up together and kicking a whole line of them.
I land on the ground, one hand holding my position while the other holding my bat. I get up and turn around seeing a villager swing his sickle at me, I duck watching the sharp thing pass over my head. I then hit the sickle out of his hand by slamming my bat onto his forearm, I catch the sickle and swing. I watch the sickle stab into his skull, seeing the liquid flow out of him.
I look over and watch a man creepily come out of the house he was in. I watch him turn to me, seeing how we both are curious of one another. I watch as he walks towards me until more villagers surround us. I scoff and run to the tower, jumping high onto the ladder and climbing. I let my feet guide my hands as I watch villagers throw things at me.
I use my bat to hit things back, I look up and swing my body up. I do a flip as I land on my knees, I look down seeing them rage. I look over and peer outside, seeing the man fight them off as well.
