Chapter 15

"So a stormtrooper and a who now are doing what?" Holdo can't believe there was a mutiny right under her nose.

"They are trying to save us." Poe speaks slower for her to keep up. "This is our best chance for escape. You have to give Finn and Rose all the time that you can."

"You have bet the survival of the Resistance on bad odds and put us all at risk. There's no time now. We have to get clear of the cruiser." She orders an officer behind her. "Load the transports."

"Right away, Ma'am"

Poe shakes his head. He didn't want it to come to this. "Yeah, I was afraid you'd say that."

He and Lt Connix along with a few pilots draw their blasters.

"Vice Admiral Holdo, I am relieving you of your command for the survival of this ship, its crew and the Resistance."

Amilyn stands shocked by the boldness of the small group. She and the other officers stand with their hands up.

"I hope you understand what you're doing." She frowns.

Poe puts his gun back. "Yeah. I'm going to the bridge. If they move, stun them."

He brushes past Holdo with Connix following behind.

"That's done. We have to this ship on the right course and prepare for lightspeed."

"Yes sir." Connix confirms, she glances around. "Will you inform Commander Solo?"

Poe rubs his neck. "Let's secure the bridge first and then I will deal with Jaina."

He pulls out his communicator. "BB-8, tell me something good."

BB-8 beeps in response. The droid ejects a communicator at Finn.

"Poe, we're almost there. Have the cruiser prepped for lightspeed."

"Yeah, I'm on it, pal. You just hurry."

Poe strides onto the bridge. "Clear the bridge, escort the officers down to the hangar."

C-3PO steps toward him. "Commander... Captain Dameron, Admiral Holdo was looking for you."

Poe steps into the command chair. "Yeah we spoke."

"Sir, I am almost afraid to ask."

"Good instinct, Threepio. Go with that."

Rey tucks the ancient Jedi texts in a drawer on the Millennium Falcon. Chewie navigates them through lightspeed. She is nervous but knows she needs to be with Ben and Jaina.

"Stay there until you get my signal for where to rendezvous." She climbs into an escape pod.

R2-D2 beeps in acknowledgement. Chewie asks what to tell Finn.

"If you see Finn before I do, " Rey thinks of the right words. "tell him..."

Chewie growls.

"Yeah, perfect. Tell him that." She smiles.

Rey looks at her lightsaber one last time before tucking herself into the pod. Chewie shuts the hatch and launches her into space.

Ben gave her the coordinates to the Finalizer. She lands in the hangar bay that houses Snoke's very own ship and Ren's TIE Fighter. When she lands, Ren is waiting for her. He opens the pod with two stormtroopers standing behind her. They help her out and bound her hands. They don't move out of the hangar bay. She looks at Ben confused.

"We're waiting for Jaina." He replies softly.

She lets out a sigh of relief. Thankfully she won't be alone trying to free Ben from Snoke's clutches.
