Life

Let your life live,
And love to give,
And everything will be alright.

From a childhood dream,
To an annoying teen,
It races from day to night.

Life is unexpected, unpredictable, uncontrollable,
People take life for granted.
Life is too short to throw away,
People think life is ranted.

Life races by in a flash of white,
Day passes night.
Life stops in a wall of black,
Gone off the beaten track.

Young to old,
It only takes seconds.
Life to death,
Every minute lessens.

A shadow of darkness,
Looms over all.
A phantom of demise,
To make us fall.

The ones we love,
Were taken by death.
Leaving the earth,
Feeling bereft.

You were here in the past,
I'll see you in the future.
Gone at the moment,
The answer endures.
