My Book of Poems

As An Author

I don't care what people say.
If I'm going to do what I want to do,
I'm going to do it my way.

People are always telling me what to do, what to say, what to be.
I want to be me, I want to write.
And that's what I want people to see.

I like writing; it's as simple as that.
About my feelings and memories.
How you read a book is how you read me.
I want to stand on my own, to be carefree.

I do this not for money or for fame.
I do this because I love it.
I want to be known as a writer,
I want to be known for my name
As an author.
