__Scourge was trying to get Buck to go back in the house. He was about to leave and go find Rouge when Buck rushed out of the house and sat on the grass in front of him. Scourge didn't want Buck to be out with him, so he tried getting him to move. "Go back inside," He told him. "Sonic needs you with him."
__But Buck refused to move. He would snort and bounce his head dramatically as he looked at Scourge.
__Scourge grew impatient with the dog as he crossed his arms. "I mean it, Buck. Go back inside! Now!"
__Buck then lowered his head and began growling. It was clear what his motives were, but Scourge wasn't having it. He ignored the dog's warnings as he grabbed him by the collar and pulled him back into the house. After he pushed him in, he shut the door quickly. Buck had gone to the window next to the door and started barking and whimpering at Scourge.
__"Stay there!" Scourge yelled. He turned and began running. It was evening, so he knew where he could find Rouge.__"What do you want, Scourge?" Rouge asked as she was about to fly over to the museum in front of them.
__Scourge looked at the museum and smirked as he looked back at Rouge. "How is it that you're an agent, but you still steal jewels?"
__"G.U.N. can't control what I do outside of work," Rouge winked and crossed her arms as she descended to the ground. "But seriously, what's going on?"
__"I really need someone to talk to right now," Scourge said shamefully.
__Rouge looked at the museum and sighed as she looked back at Scourge. "That jewel will still be there tomorrow night. Come on, let's go." She started walking and Scourge followed after her.
__They made their way over to Rouge's house, but it wasn't just her house. When they got inside Scourge saw Shadow sitting on the couch while reading a book. E-123 Omega had its own little corner that it sat in and charged itself. Shadow had closed his book and looked up at Scourge and Rouge with his eyes narrowed.
__"I hope you don't mind, hon," Rouge said sweetly. "Scourge and I are going to talk about some things."
__Scourge had looked at Rouge's left hand and saw the wedding ring that rested on her ring finger. He looked at Shadow's and saw he wore the same ring. Shadow and Rouge had gotten married a few months ago and kept E-123 Omega as their cherished roommate. It didn't sit well with Scourge that they were living with a robot, but he kept quiet about it.
__"What kind of things?" Shadow asked.
__Rouge shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know," She then smiled at Scourge and led him into the kitchen. She looked at Scourge worriedly as she leaned on the counter. "What's wrong, Scourge?"
__"You can tell right off the bat?" Scourge grinned.
__Rouge nodded. "I know you well enough now. Now tell me what's on your mind."
__Scourge crossed his arms and sighed. "It's me and Sonic. Mostly me."
__"Did you two get into an argument?"
__"Sort of. I made him upset."
__"Of course you did," Rouge muttered. "What happened?"
__"I may have blabbered about my dilemma a little bit and tried to hide it."
__"Your dilemma?" Rouge's eyes then went wide. "Oh! Oh no. What did you tell him?"
__Scourge leaned on the wall as he looked away. "I didn't exactly tell him about it. But he's starting to put bits and pieces together. I tried telling him I was over it."
__"Well, that's not going to work with Sonic," Rouge remarked. "He's smarter than that."
__"I know that!" Scourge groaned. "I just don't want him to worry about it."
__"Too late for that," Rouge muttered. She then looked at Scourge's left hand. Her eyes went wide and she forced herself to look at Scourge.
__Scourge sighed as he looked at Rouge. "By the way, do you know what Sonic was planning? You seemed to know when you asking to hang out earlier."
__Rouge straightened as she looked away. "No, I...assumed you wanted to be...alone..."
__Scourge could tell she was lying, but he wasn't going to bother her about it. "So, what do I do then? Sonic locked me out of the room and he won't talk to me."
__"Give him space," Rouge replied. "Even guys need a breather. When he comes around don't try to force anything," She then sighed as she leaned on the counter again. "And if he asks you about your dilemma, say it makes you uncomfortable to talk about it. That should help. I know he respects how other people feel about things."
__"Yeah, but it's me," Scourge remarked bitterly. "He's used to seeing me upset all the damn time and me allowing him to help me."
__"He may need time to adjust to that," Rouge then grabbed her chin. "You might want to remind him of that as well."
__"I don't want to make him any more upset than I already have."
__"Then I don't know what else to say."
__Scourge looked at the floor and nodded. "Thanks anyway."
__"I hope you two will make up," Rouge made a big smile as she led Scourge to the door. "Don't push it, okay?"
__Scourged nodded and looked at Shadow with a smirk. "Not even a hello when I got in. Do I not get a bye either?"
__Shadow had his arms crossed and he was leaning on the back of the couch. He smirked as he looked away. "Fine. Bye, fag."
__Scourge narrowed his eyes and returned the smirk. "Wow. Bye, you stupid hetero." Scourge nodded to Rouge before he ran out of the house with his super-speed.__Sonic had locked himself in his office when Scourge got home. He didn't realize Scourge came back since he was sitting in his computer chair, playing his red electric guitar while wearing his AirPods. Scourge could hear Sonic singing, but he couldn't understand him through the door. Scourge walked over to the door, which had two columns of small square windows, and watched Sonic play and sing.
__Buck had come downstairs and ran over to Scourge. He tried to jump on him as he wailed and growled in sadness.
__Scourge knelt down on one knee as he scratched behind Buck's ear. "I know. I know. I'm sorry, little boy."
__Sonic had stopped playing and took out one of his Airpods as he looked out the door. His eyes went wide and he started putting everything away. When he was done he unlocked the door and went to sit next to Scourge. "Hey, I'm sorry I acted like that."
__"You're not supposed to be the one apologizing," Scourge told him. "That's my job right now. I'm sorry."
__Sonic leaned onto Scourge and he began petting Buck as well. "Look, if you don't want to tell me what's happening, then that's okay. You have your secrets and I have mine."
__Scourge looked at Sonic and wrapped his arm around his shoulders. "Are couples allowed to keep secrets all of a sudden?"
__"It's complicated," Sonic replied. "It's based on trust, but there are things you keep from them still."
__Scourge sighed as he leaned his head onto Sonic's. "That's too confusing."
__"That's why it's complicated," Sonic muttered. He then pulled his head away and looked at Scourge. "I just want to say this. Don't feel like you have to change. I didn't fall in love with you just because you stopped being evil. I fell in love with you because I was alone and you were always there. Even though I technically forced you to be." Sonic made an awkward grin as he closed his eyes.
__Scourge returned the grin and frowned again. "Sonic...I'm not the same depressed hedgehog that needed the help."
__Sonic frowned as well as he hugged Scourge. "I know. I know. I'm sorry."
__Scourge hugged Sonic back and rested his chin on his shoulder. "You know I love you still."
__"Yeah," Sonic then kissed Scourge's face. "Me too."
__Scourge sighed again as he began to think. He now didn't feel right keeping his problems from Sonic, but he didn't want Sonic to be involved with them. He didn't want his dilemma to get in the way in what they had right now.
