__Scourge had eaten breakfast early the next day. He had Caliburn in the corner of the kitchen as he was filling up Buck's food bowl. Buck had sat next to him, but he was more interested in Scourge rather than his food. He had been staring at him with deep confusion. Scourge never did these things this early. With the plans he had, he wanted to get things done so he could finish things quickly. He would still wait for Sonic to call him. After that, then he would take Caliburn and leave.
__Caliburn was watching with interest as Buck started eating his kibble. "Such strange food to give a dog."
__"Yeah, well, in modern days we have food made for dogs," Scourge replied as he sat down at the table and pulled his phone out. "We still give them our leftovers, though."
__Caliburn's eyes were still fixed on the dog. "A beautiful dog. I've never seen his breed."
__"Border Collie." Scourge's phone went off and he put a finger over his mouth. Caliburn rolled his eyes as Scourge answered the phone. He waited until he saw Sonic lying down on a bed. He had his phone leaning against something since he wasn't holding it.
__"Hey, baby," Scourge started. "Settling down now?"
__Sonic smiled. "Yeah. I got my first concert tomorrow night. It should be live."
__"Like every other concert you've had?" Scourge asked sarcastically.
__Sonic rolled his eyes but kept his smile big. "Is Buck still missing me?"
__Scourge looked down at Buck and grinned. "Pretty sure he's forgotten who you are now."
__"B.S., Scourge!" Sonic retorted jokingly.
__Scourge giggled and had the phone facing where Buck was. "Buck, look. It's daddy." Buck had turned his head and walked carefully over to the phone. His yellow eyes went wide and he started smelling the phone.
__"Hi, Buck!" Sonic said happily. Buck had started whimpering after hearing Sonic's voice. He sat down and kept bobbing his snout up and down.
__"Wow. I guess he does remember," Scourge jested. "I'm surprised he can recognize you in black and white."
__"Actually, it's been proven that dogs can see the colors blue and yellow," Sonic remarked. "So I'm pretty sure he can see me clearly." Sonic then paused. "Is that Caliburn in my kitchen?"
__Scourge quickly pulled the phone back and faced it towards him again. "No. What are you talking about?"
__Sonic sat up from his bed and grabbed his phone. He narrowed his eyes and frowned. "I can be an idiot sometimes, but I'm not blind. What is he doing out of my closet?"
__Scourge flattened his ears and looked away from the phone. "Uh...I thought he would like to see some actual sunlight..."
__"Caliburn is only to be taken out of there if there's an emergency," Sonic reminded. "And only I can take him out since I'm the only one who knows how to use him properly."
__"I-I know...but..." Scourge sighed in defeat. "I got nothing."
__Sonic groaned and shook his head. "What's going on, Scourge?"
__"Nothing. Am I not allowed to take interest in your talking sword?"
__"Why can't you just tell him about the cyborg?" Caliburn asked, sounding annoyed.
__"Cyborg?" Sonic's ear then twitched. "What cyborg!? Scourge, what's go---"
__"Gotta go! Bye!" Scourge quickly hung up and set the phone on the table. His phone started going off and he glared at the sword. "You were supposed to stay quiet!" He growled.
__Caliburn just looked annoyed rather than threatened. "I don't understand why you're keeping this from Sonic If you care about him."
__"I don't want Sonic to know that his doppelganger is back and wants to kill him again!" Scourge hissed.
__"Again?"
__Scourge sighed and started rubbing his temples as his phone continued to ring. "Super Metal Sonic has tried to kill him before," Scourge then flattened his ears. "It was my fault."
__"How was it your fault?" Caliburn asked slowly.
__"It was the night Sonic confessed his feelings for me and, with me being stupid and not knowing the correct words to say, I just completely dropped the bomb on him," Scourge shook his head in shame and closed his eyes. "He ran into the woods where that cyborg was and it hurt him badly. I was barely able to get him to a hospital."
__Caliburn was silent. He didn't seem to know how to remark to that.
__Scourge went over to grab Caliburn and started walking to the door. "Let's just get this over with." Scourge heard his ringing phone get louder and turned to see Buck had it in his mouth. He was bobbing his head as if telling Scourge to take it. "Buck, no. Put it back." Buck had kept his head down as he went back to the kitchen.
__"Once Sonic realizes there's no point in calling, he's going to try to talk to his manager and get back here to see what's happening," Scourge muttered. He looked at Buck, who had walked back to him, and knelt down to him. "Stay here, boy. Hopefully I'll be able to come back." Buck's eyes then went wide. As Scourge left the house and shut the door, he could hear Buck barking, whining, and scratching the door. He sighed and began walking towards the woods.

__Scourge was staring down at the bright red line on the ground. Once he stepped past it, he would lose his powers and had to rely on Caliburn. He moved his foot to step over it, but something had kept him from doing so.
__"Why do you hesitate, Knave?" Caliburn asked. "You're not afraid, are you?"
__Scourge couldn't find any words. He forced himself to step over the line. He managed to bring himself to the other side. He didn't feel any different. He tried to spin dash, but he ended up face first into the dirt. He spat out dirt as he stood back up. I'm in trouble if I'm not careful. He then looked back behind him. Do I get them back if I leave?
__"You've finally come to play!"
__Scourge whipped his head around and saw Super Metal Sonic standing there. It was bouncing up and down a bit, keeping its metal toes on the ground, in excitement. It looked rather happy to see Scourge.
__"It didn't take long, did it?" The cyborg grabbed its chin and asked. "I didn't even need to lure some unsuspecting person to their death to get your attention," It then looked down at the sword held tightly in Scourge's hand. "You were smart enough to bring a weapon? But do you really think that old sword can do any real damage? I think not."
__Scourge felt his arm reach out in front of him as Caliburn glared at the cyborg. "How dare you! I am Caliburn, one of the legendary swords; the Holy Sword! I'll do you more than damage!"
__Scourge brought his arm back down and glared at Super Metal Sonic as well. "Enough. I'm fighting back everything I've ever went through, and you'll be the first. I'm not going to let you live."
__Super Metal Sonic laughed. "Really now? Golly, I sure am scared," It said sarcastically. "Please! That sword can't protect you from my claws and guns."
__Scourge held Caliburn with both hands and felt the adrenaline spreading throughout his body. "Let's put it to the test."
