__"Hold still, dammit!" Sonic growled as he yanked on Scourge's arm. Scourge and Sonic were sitting on the warm grass outside, struggling against one another while avoiding the one puddle of mud near them, which had been engraved from Scourge falling face-first into it.
__"Ow! Watch it!" Scourge hissed back. "You're overreacting over some stupid mud!"
__Sonic held Scourge with one arm and was harshly wiping mud off of Scourge's face with a wet rag in his free hand. "Whatever! I need you sparkling clean for tonight."
__When Sonic finished Scourge immediately got out of his grasp, his glasses falling over his eyes. "No need to be dramatic about it!" He muttered.
__"You're telling someone, who's gay, not to be dramatic?" Sonic snickered and shook his head. He then moved Scourge's glasses back on his forehead and made him look his way. "Come on, Scourge, don't be like that. What I have planned tonight is special. I want it to perfect for you."
__Scourge rolled his eyes and sighed. "Yeah, yeah. Just take it easy, man."
__Sonic closed his eyes and made a huge grin. "No promises!"
__Scourge stifled a laugh and stood up when Sonic did. He flattened his ears when Sonic looked at him. "I don't even know if I want to do this surprise thing today. I'm still a bit upset after having my dead dad visit me."
__Sonic's eyes grew wide and he shook his head. "Please! This is really important. I had this planned for a long time and have been putting it off long enough. I promise this will make you feel better. I won't aggravate or annoy for the rest of the day." His eyes were filled with plead and desperation.
__Scourge groaned under Sonic's stare. "Yeah, all right. Ya got me."
__Sonic smiled and hugged Scourge tightly. "Thank you! You won't be disappointed."
__Scourge hugged Sonic back and rubbed his head against Sonic's. His warmth and scent was comforting to Scourge. "I'll be holding onto that." They pulled a part and looked over at the window by the front door, where Buck was whimpering and barking at them to let him out.
__"Sorry, Buck!" Sonic called to him. "You have to stay in there for this." He looked back at Scourge and grabbed both his hands. "So, I need to finish setting up things for tonight. Can you wait here a minute?"
__Scourge nodded and crossed his arms. "Sure thing." Sonic quickly pressed his lips against Scourge's before running off with his super-speed. Scourge was left staring after him. He then heard Buck crying again and went back in the house. After shutting the door, Buck was all over Scourge. "All right, down, boy!" Scourge made Buck sit down and pressed a finger against his wet nose. "You need to calm down, bud."
__Scourge heard his phone go off and went into the kitchen. He unplugged his phone and saw that Rouge had texted him. She was just checking up on him. Scourge was a bit disappointed and set the phone in his pocket. He went back to Buck and started messing around with him.__ It was past nine now. Sonic hadn't come back yet. Scourge was worried. He had texted Sonic an hour ago as well. Lots of different scenarios had been going through his mind of what could have happened to him. He then decided he was going to start looking for him. Before he could, however, his phone started ringing and Buck was barking and howling to the ringtone that played awfully loud. Both made Scourge jump before he pulled his phone out of his pocket. He sighed in relief when he saw it was Sonic that called him. He answered the phone and held it to his ear. "What happened? I thought you were coming back."
__"Sorry! I had to go to the city and get a lot of things and it took me forever to set everything up perfectly. If it makes you feel any better, I'm finished now. All you need to do is meet me at our special place and watch."
__Scourge couldn't stop himself from smiling. "Okay, I'll be there in a minute." He hung up and rubbed Buck's head. "We'll be back soon." He then left Buck sitting where he was and left the house. He began walking through the woods. As excited as he was to see what Sonic had planned, he wanted to keep himself in suspense.
__While walking, he heard dried leaves crunching behind him and whipped his head around. He relaxed when he saw a young buck slowly walk up to him. This deer had to be a year old based on the size of its body and antlers. Something even felt familiar about this deer to Scourge. Scourge examined the deer in disbelief before looking into its eyes. "You wouldn't be Buck's kid, would you?" He muttered. He remembered the day the deer, Buck, Sonic had watched over had finally left their old house. He had met up with a doe and a fawn. Sonic and Scourge never knew what happened to them after Buck was killed.
__The deer was staring at Scourge and slowly backing up. When it stopped it started motioning with its head to follow and started walking. Scourge was hesitant to follow it since it was going away from where Sonic was, but something made him follow it. It took a long time, but Scourge found himself in a familiar place. There was a large mound of semi-hardened dirt and a small boulder in the middle of it. He knew what this was. Under this mound was the remains of Buck. He and Sonic had buried him where he died. Scourge scanned the area and saw a couple of the sinkholes that were never filled back up. What caught Scourge's attention was a big, beautiful yellow camellia standing in the mound.
__"Well I'll be..." Scourge watched the deer carefully smell the flower before looking back at Scourge. "Is this all you wanted to show me? A yellow flower?" Scourge then grinned. "Sonic would want to see this." He pulled his phone out a took a picture of the flower before standing up. He put the phone back and looked at the deer. "That was your dad, huh?"
__The little buck only stared at Scourge before it started walking away. It stopped to look back at Scourge once more being continuing on.
