Neutral Charges {Sequel/ Sonourge}

SEVEN

__Scourge was about to open his mouth and speak when Sonic suddenly rushed over and stood in front of him. Everyone took notice and crowded around them. Buck continued to whimper as he got closer to Scourge and Sonic. Scourge was trying to look passed Sonic at the Suppression Squad, but he wasn't allowing him to. 
__"Sonic, what are you doing!?" He hissed.
__"Just stay back," Sonic looked at Scourge and muttered. He then looked at Alicia and tightened his fists. "What are you doing here, Alicia!? You guys are supposed to stay in your own zone! That was our deal!"
__Alicia had taken a few steps toward Sonic and crossed her arms as she glared at him. "Do you mind explaining to me why Scourge is here!?" She retorted. "The Zone Cops came to us and told us that Scourge was living here now!"
__"So!?" Sonic yelled back.
__"So, they're making us pay an expensive fee to keep Scourge in this godforsaken zone!"
__Scourge flattened his ears and backed up as he looked down at Buck. Why do I always have to be so damn expensive with the No Zone! He screamed in his head.
__"What does your fee have to do with us!?" Tails screeched.
__It was Miles that stepped forward. He kept his hands behind him and his eyes narrowed. "We shouldn't be the ones paying for him."
__"You're not expecting us to pay!?" Sally sneered.
__"That's exactly what we're expecting," Miles replied calmly. "It's your zone after all. It's either you pay, or we force Scourge to come back with us so we don't have to worry about the expensive fee."
__Scourge's eyes went wide. He let himself sink to the ground and flattened his ears. I don't wanna go back! Everyone there wants me dead! He then looked up at Sonic. But what am I supposed to do then?
__"So, Freedom Fighters, what will it be?" Miles asked.
__Sonic looked hopelessly at Dr. Kintobor. "You too, doc?" He asked in disbelief.
__Kintobor looked away from him. "None of us can afford to pay the fee. My hospital would go out of business."
__Sonic flattened his ears and looked at the ground. Scourge could feel his body trembling.
__"If ya'll can't afford it, then we can't afford it neither!" Bunnie pointed out. "God awmighty!"
__"My wife makes for a compelling argument," Antoine added.
__Alicia flipped her red hair and stared at Sally with this angry look. "Then Scourge has to come back to Moebius."
__"None of you even like Scourge!" Sally snapped. "Why would you want him back!?"
__"We would rather keep him in a dark corner in our zone rather than pay that ridiculous fee," Miles stated.
__Scourge stared up at the sky with his ears still flattened. His heart started aching from the feeling of leaving Sonic. He didn't want to go back, but he didn't want to be selfish either. He was still torn by the decisions, though. He didn't know what to do.
__"Scourge is staying here!" Sonic yelled. Scourge had looked up at Sonic in shock as he continued. "This is his home! He's not leaving!"
__Scourge stood up and carefully peeked passed Sonic's head. All of the Moebians were staring at Sonic with either surprise or anger. Scourge grabbed Sonic's had and felt him grip it tightly.
__"Why do you care that Scourge is living here?" Alicia asked skeptically. "Last I checked, all of you wanted Scourge out of your zone."
__Sonic opened his mouth to speak, but no sound came out. He then closed it and looked at the ground. Everything was silent now. It made Scourge uneasy.
__"Why wouldn't we care is the real question," Tails said, breaking the silence. "Scourge is just another person who needs a good home like the rest of us."
__Scourge perked his ears. He was shocked by what Tails had said.
__"Yeah!" Knuckles called out. "We went through a lot of trouble with this guy, and we won't let it all go in vain!"
__"He's helped us so far," Sally added. "He may not be a hero, but he's a good ally to have."
__"Just a bunch of empty words!" Alicia sneered. 
__Rouge then flew over to the front and landed on the ground. She walked towards Alicia, making her walk back as she did. "Scourge is my friend! He's everyone's friend here!"
__"We're not letting you take him!" Amy yelled.
__With that, everyone stood together tall and proud. Scourge stopped himself from making any sound as he looked around at everyone. They all care that much about me? He felt his heart beat faster. I'm not alone then. I was never alone. He looked down at Buck and rubbed his head. I can't let them sacrifice for my sake. He made a big inhale and sighed as he felt confidence run through his body. He began pushing his way to the front, making everyone stare at him in shock. He glared into Miles' eyes as he tightened his fists. "Stop it. I'll go back."
__Sonic's eyes went wide and he ran over to Scourge. He grabbed onto his arm and started pulling. "That's not up to you! Get back there, Scourge!"
__Scourge didn't budge. He yanked his arm away from Sonic and looked at him with soft eyes. "It is up to me. This is literally about me. I don't want any of you to get in the way of my problems."
__"Your problems are mine as well, Scourge!" Sonic said pleadingly. "Please, go back. We'll work out a way around this."
__"No, you won't. I'm not letting you," He then hugged Sonic and smirked as he brought his mouth to Sonic's ear. "I won't stay long," He whispered. "I'll break out of that zone and come back to you. That's a promise." He leaned back and watched Sonic flatten his ears.
__Buck started barking and ran over to them. He grabbed onto Scourge's jacket and started growling and whimpering as he pulled.
__Scourge pulled his jacket away and pointed at the ground. "Sit," He watched Buck continue to whimper as he sat down. "Stay," He then turned around and walked right up to Miles. "All right, I'm coming back. But don't expect me to do everything you say willingly."
__"Oh, we have plans for that," Miles growled. He then looked at the other Moebians. "Let's go!"
__Dr. Kintobor and the blue robot were the first to go back through the ring. Patch and Boomer both stood behind Scourge and glared at him. Patch had pulled out a sword and motioned Scourge to move with it. Scourge snorted as he started walking. He then stopped when he was right next to Alicia and smirked.
__"Didn't take long for you to want me back, huh, Al?"
__Alicia growled as she tried not to grab her whip from her belt. "Just go in already."
__Scourge looked at all his friends one last time. Rouge and Sonic were the ones to show more sadness in their eyes than anyone else. Scourge brought up and smile and winked at them before he jumped through the portal. His eyes went wide when he saw the world of Moebius. It wasn't how he remembered it. He felt Patch's sword touch his back and continued moving forward toward Alicia's castle. He growled quietly as he put his sunglasses over his eyes. I won't be staying.
