__Scourge and Buck were huddled up on the couch with a big blanket wrapped around them. It was freezing cold and the heater wasn't enough. Scourge had the T.V. on, but he was paying any attention to it. He had been texting Rouge for over six minutes. They had been talking about Scourge's worries mainly. He didn't like that Sonic was gone. He felt completely helpless. Talking to Rouge while he was gone was the only thing reducing Scourge's anxiety.
__Scourge finally put his phone down when Rouge said she had to go. He repositioned himself on the couch while Buck did the same. He laid his head on Scourge's chest before he redid the blanket as well. Scourge had his eyes glued to the T.V. screen, but his mind was elsewhere. I hate this so. Fucking. Much. He sighed and tried rubbing Buck's head to calm himself a little. It's only been two days! I can't do this!
__Buck suddenly sat up and looked out the window. He was silent and still for a minute before he began growling. As the growling grew louder, he started barking angrily.
__Scourge sat up as well and tried to see what Buck was barking at through the window. When he couldn't find anything and stood up and headed for the front door. He opened it and watched Buck jump off the couch and bolt outside. He then followed him outside and watched as Buck was standing near the woods. Scourge walked over to him and stared into the woods. Once again, he saw Sonic with narrowed eyes, leaning on a tree. He didn't wear the cyan bandana either.
__"Weren't you suppo..." He looked down at Buck, who continued to bark and growl. Scourge made a scowl as he looked at Sonic. "You've got to be kidding me!" He sneered. He took a step towards him, but Sonic got off the tree and began walking deeper into the woods. Scourge stopped and stared worriedly into the woods. It can't be! He looked back at Buck and pointed to the house.
__Buck had hesitated before he turned and started walking back to the house with his tail drooped down. When he got in the house he used his front leg to pushed the door shut.
__Scourge quietly growled as he walked into the woods. He had a feeling he knew what this was. After several minutes of walking, he saw something glowing a bright red in the distance. He kept going until he saw a red line spread horizontally across the grass. It was a bright light and he couldn't see the end of either side of the line. He looked ahead and was about to step over the line.
__"I wouldn't do that if I were you," Sonic's voice spoke.
__Scourge perked his ears and stepped back as Sonic appeared in front of him again. He crossed his arms and tensed his shoulders. "Why not? What happens if I step over the line?" He asked suspiciously.
__Sonic smirked as he placed both hands on his hips. "You are too powerful for me to face, so I have this kind of field that disables your abilities if you step over that line. You would be vulnerable to me."
__Scourge dropped his arms and glared at Sonic. "Let me ask you this, how are you back? Why are you even back?"
__Sonic's smirk grew bigger as he started to transform into a blue robot that looked exactly like Sonic. "Dr. Eggman found my parts days after you destroyed me. It took a while, but he rebuilt me. After I was complete, he assigned me to this area and set up this field."
__"I thought you had free will?" Scourge pointed out.
__"I don't have much," The cyborg sighed. "The doctor learned from his mistake after first creating me."
__"Why did he assign you here?" Scourge narrowed his eyes as he asked and tightened his fists.
__The cyborg giggled as it sat down on the grass and looked up at Scourge as it tilted its head. "He wanted to test to see if I could...harm any Freedom Fighters in a way that would break Sonic's spirits. That way he could see if I could...get rid of him." It smiled as its red eyes beamed in excitement.
__Scourge snarled as he forced himself to stay still. "Mother fucker!"
__The cyborg waved one of its big claws as it shook its head. "Name calling's not nice, Scourge. You don't need to worry about me hurting any of the Freedom Fighters or any of those other innocent civilians."
__"And why's that?"
__"Because it's you I'm after!" The cyborg cheered. It then glared at Scourge. "Ever since I killed whom you called your girlfriend, you've caused me nothing but trouble! You ended up dismantling me! I want my revenge!" The cyborg calmed down and grinned. "After I kill you, killing Sonic would just be an added perk."
__"Even if you could kill me, which you can't, Sonic would smash you to bits and throw you into a volcano," Scourge threatened.
__"Yeah right. The doctor heard of your affairs with the blue hedgehog. If I kill you, do you know how much sanity he would lose? He'd be so heartbroken by your death, he wouldn't even fight back."
__"You don't know that!" Scourge barked.
__"Oh, but I do! You noticed how each time he parted with a past lover, he ended up a little vulnerable? Imagine how vulnerable he would be if his beloved boyfriend were to perish?"
__"If you're so confident in this, then why don't you come over here and fight me!?" Scourge growled. "Show me you can kill me!"
__But the cyborg shook his head. "If I leave this field, then you'll just destroy me again. I can't risk that. I have to wait for you to come here to me."
__Scourge felt his left eye twitching before he threw his arms up in the air. "Then why did you stop me from walking past this line!?"
__The cyborg started giggling. "I like taking things slow. It's more fun that way."
__"Well, you ain't gonna find me going past this line," Scourge said as he looked away and huffed.
__"Oh, you'll be coming to me soon," The cyborg said in a dark manner. "I can still turn invisible and lead people here to their end."
__"That's not happening," Was the last thing Scourge said before he started walking away.
__"You can't hide from what's to come!" The cyborg called out. "Sometime soon you'll have to come to me."
__Not happening. Scourge repeated in his head. He felt a surge of anger and fear filling his stomach. Super Metal Sonic was back. It made him mad about the way the cyborg was talking about killing him, but it made him scared on how he made a point by how Sonic would react afterwards. Innocent people may be killed once again, and only to get Scourge to give in and enter the field where all his abilities would vanish. Everything will be fine. He told himself. I'll just...tell the Freedom Fighters what's going on. Sonic doesn't need to know until he gets back. He needs to focus on his tour. He let out a couple of sighs as he walked back home.
