Neutral Charges {Sequel/ Sonourge}

TWENTY-TWO

__"Scourge."
__Scourge kept his eyes closed and groaned. He flattened his ears and rolled over on his other side as he hid his face from the light. Don't bother me. He thought tiredly.
__"Scourge, come on."
__"Go away," Scourge yawned.
__"Oh my god! You haven't changed a bit. Get up!"
__Scourge felt a hand on his quills. But this hand didn't have any kind of temperature. It was almost like there wasn't anything there. Scourge sat up and opened his eyes. He found himself in a place that was like a mixture of the ocean and space. He felt his legs straighten out beneath him and noticed he was floating. "What the hell is this?"
__"Hey, turn around, you moron."
__Scourge turned his head and saw that Fiona was floating behind him. She looked normal; she was not see through or sparkly. "Wait, I thought you..."
__"What? That I died again?" She burst out laughing and shook her head. "Please."
__"Well, why am I here? What do you need?"
__"I just wanted to let you know that someone will be visiting you over by that Chaos Emerald," Fiona began. "It was hard trying to get them to comply, but they will appear. They want see to you."
__"They?" Scourge tilted his head.
__"Well, not they. It's one person. I just want you to be surprised." Fiona floated over to Scourge and grabbed his shoulders. "But I also wanted to let you know how extremely happy I am for you. I could never have given you what Sonic has."
__"What do you mean?" Scourge asked worriedly. "If you were still alive..."
__Fiona shook her head. "There was no way around my death. One way or another, I would've been killed and leave you."
__Scourge flattened his ears and looked away. "I guess that makes sense."
__"I also wanted to tell you that you're an idiot."
__Scourge perked his ears. "Excuse me!? Why exactly am I an idiot!?"
__"I've been watching you and Sonic and I've seen how naïve you are about something."
__"What thing!?" Scourge exclaimed.
__"Never mind that," Fiona giggled. "Anyway, it's about time you woke up. I'll be watching, hon."

__Scourge groaned as he opened his eyes. He felt weight on his chest and saw Sonic's head on it. He was still asleep. Scourge smiled as he set a hand on Sonic's quills. He carefully petted them and watched Sonic open his eyes.
__"Don't bother me," Sonic groaned and closed his eyes again.
__Scourge smirked as he sat up and moved Sonic to where his face faced the ceiling. Scourge held his head like a baby as he started blowing on his face. "You can't just sleep in, babe. We got a hungry dog."
__"You feed him," Sonic groaned again.
__Scourge rolled his eyes and set Sonic back down. He stood up and put all his clothes on before he went into their master bathroom over where the bath tub was. He put the plug in the drain and turned on the cold water. He waited until the tub was half full to turn it off and went back to Sonic. He took off Sonic's gloves and socks and picked him up in a bridal style. He stifled a laugh as Sonic groaned and carried him into the bathroom. He then dropped Sonic into the cold water and watched Sonic immediately stand up and started shivering.
__"Morning!" Scourge started laughing when Sonic glared at him.
__"You dick!"
__"Oh shit!" Scourge started running when Sonic got out of the tub and started chasing him. They ran all over the house. When they got down stairs Buck saw what they were doing and joined in, barking happily. Sonic was able to tackle Scourge and pinned him to the ground. Scourge was laughing as he tried to get Sonic off of him. "Sonic, I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Please get off! You're cold and wet!"
__"And who's fault is that!?" Sonic retorted. Buck ran over to them and started licking Scourge's face.
__"Buck, no stop!" Scourge said while trying to move his face away. "Please get off! I won't do it again! I swear!"
__Sonic smirked and pushed the dog away. He wiped Scourge's cheek before kissing it and got off of Scourge. "That's a way to start the day. Well, might as well continue." Sonic helped Scourge stand up and they went back up stairs.

__"Are you sure you don't want to come?" Sonic asked. He had his hand on the doorknob and was looking at Scourge.
__Scourge nodded as he crossed his arms. "I'm not a Freedom Fighter. You know that. I can't really be going to your meetings." Scourge was telling half of the truth. He wanted to stay near the purple Chaos Emerald and wait for this guest Fiona was talking about.
__"They won't be annoyed if you come," Sonic insisted. "You're their family, too."
__"I know, and I see them as that, too. But I don't want to come off too strong. Feel me?"
__Sonic sighed and nodded. "All right. I'll be back in an hour." He opened the door and shut it behind him as he left.
__Scourge went to sit on the couch and watched the emerald on the coffee table. He waited a minute before he looked over at Buck. He had his old rubber ball in his mouth and was looking at Scourge, pleading for him to play. He squeezed it once to make it squeak and started wagging his tail. Scourge giggled and stood up. "All right, Buck. Give me the ball." Buck dropped the ball and pushed it with his nose to roll it over to Scourge. Scourge knelt down on both knees and threw the ball. He watched Buck chase after it and come back with it. They continued this for five minutes until Buck got bored.
__"Tired, boy?" Scourge dropped the ball and started rubbing the dog's neck. "Poor baby!" They continued to play around when Buck suddenly went still and perked his ears. He started whimpering and coward into Scourge's arms. Scourge looked behind him and flattened his ears. There was a blue hedgehog with green eyes and brown hair over them. He was see-through and sparkly, his crystalized green eyes staring down at Scourge. Scourge was hugging Buck to his chest, barely trembling under the blue hedgehog's stare. "Dad?"
