"Don't come closer or I'll have to go
Holding me like gravity are places that pull
If ever there was someone to keep me at home
It would be you"

Amy begins the walk home. On the way, she picks up a few groceries. When she comes into the apartment, she notices Derek is still asleep. He works again tonight so she leaves him be and starts making lunch. She makes a couple of turkey sandwiches and leaves one on a plate in the kitchen for Derek. She sits at the kitchen table and eats, thinking about what she would like to do tonight after Derek goes to work. She could call her friend who she stayed with the other night and she if she wants to get together. Or maybe her sister.

After she's done eating she calls her mom and dad. They've been in Greece on a trip for their anniversary but they are coming back before Amy's show. They talk about their trip so far and the things they've been doing and the food they've been eating. They ask about her upcoming show and if she's ready. They ask about how Derek is. Amy hasn't told them about trying to get pregnant so they don't ask about that.

When the call is over she continues to debate what she should do tonight. She decides to text her sister and see if she is free. Her sister responds back that she can come over around five.

She sees she has a new email from Harry and opens it

Dear Amy,

I feel privileged knowing that you chose me to tell those things to. I don't know what it is that makes me want to tell you everything. Things I've never told anyone.

This is the first time you've answered me about coming to my show and it's to say no. If Derek is away that means you're free. Come to LA. Don't say no when you want to say yes. Please say yes.

I'll be waiting at 4.

Harry

Amy doesn't bother writing back. She will just call him at four. Amy starts to clean the apartment. After about thirty minutes, she hears Derek wake up and go straight into the shower. When he comes out into the kitchen, he is dressed and looking a bit sleepy still.

"Hey," he smiles at her when he comes in.

"You look tired. What time did you get in last night?"

"Late. I went for a few beers with Brian after work."

Amy thinks this is a bit unusual. Derek doesn't usually go out after work because he works so late and doesn't like the idea of Amy being in the apartment by herself at night. Amy brushes it off and doesn't think too much more about it.

"I made you a sandwich."

"Thanks."

"Sarah is going to come over tonight."

"Oh yeah, that should be good. You haven't seen her in a while."

"I picked out my artwork for my show."

"What day is it again?"

"The 17th."

"I have to check my work schedule. They changed it because some people are on holiday and I need to cover for them."

Amy feels herself getting angry. He has to come to her show, she thinks. Why wouldn't he have booked that day off already? She only has these shows about once every other month. They're very important to her. She tries to calm herself.

"It really means a lot to me when you're there."

"I know. I'll try my best."

Amy decides to not get mad yet. She doesn't know if he'll be able to make it or not. She admits that he doesn't seem too enthusiastic about going and that upsets her. She wishes that he would be her biggest supporter. The one who pushes her to achieve all her goals. But that's just not the case.
