"But baby if you say you want me to stay
I'll change my mind
'Cause I don't wanna know, I'm walking away
If you'll be mine
Won't go, won't go
So baby, if you say you want me to stay
Stay for the night
I'll change my mind"Amy has walked out onto the deck and started down the stairs to the dock. The skies are clear and the light from a half moon reflects off the lake. She stares out at the water and thinks about what just happened. Harry had performed a song he wrote, presumably about her, in front of her whole family. A song in which he said that "loving you's the antidote." Was Harry falling for her? Was Amy falling for Harry?
She hears footsteps approach her and she doesn't turn back to see who it is. They stop close enough to her that she can smell their scent: spicy vanilla. Her body reacts before her head does and she can already feel her heart rate increase and her breathing quicken.
"Are you okay?" his voice deep and gravelly.
She immediately thinks about him saying her name in the heat of passion with that voice. She nods at him but doesn't turn to face him. She feels overwhelmed with her feelings for him at the moment. She is trying to hold it together because she knows if she looks at him she won't be able to maintain this control for much longer. Her body wanted Harry before but after that song, well after that song she had to physically remove herself from his presence before she threw herself at him in front of her entire family.
Harry is feeling extremely worried that he ruined things with her again. He thought she would like the song. He thought it would impress her and maybe score him some points with her family. Now he wants to rewind thirty minutes and never do it again. He feels like such an idiot for taking that risk. He thinks about how they almost kissed on the beach. How that might not ever happen again and he feels sick to his stomach by the thought.
"Amy, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you. It was stupid. I...I..." and he doesn't get any more words out before Amy has turned around and pressed her lips to his.
Harry is taken by surprise and stumbles a bit from the aggressive action. He steadies himself and then puts his hands on her waist, pulling her closer to him. He wants her as close to him as possible. He feels her open her mouth and he pushes his tongue inside exploring hers. She moans in response and this makes Harry grip her hips tighter.
"Harry?" she says, between kisses. He loves how his name sounds when her mouth is so close to his and he can feel her breath on his lips.
He hums in response to her.
"Was that song about me?" she asks as she pulls back to look at his face.
Harry looks at her and her vulnerability in this moment. Amy is scared of being hurt by him. She is scared of falling for him too quickly and him not feeling the same. But Harry doesn't want to hurt her. He cares about her, so he tells her the truth.
"I wrote the lyrics after we went to the beach that day. I couldn't stop thinking about you with the sun on your face. You were so happy. Relaxed. Golden."
Amy leans forward and kisses him softly and slowly. Harry threads his hands into Amy's hair and pulls her closer to him. Their kiss breaks and Harry pulls slightly on her hair so her head tilts back and he has access to her neck. His mouth moves along her neck, sucking, kissing and licking as he goes. Amy unconsciously arches her back as he moves his mouth to the sensitive area just below her ear and she sucks in a breath when he makes contact. She can feel Harry's mouth turn up in a smile at her response and she curses her body's reaction to him.
Harry moves back to her mouth and they kiss for a few minutes before Amy pulls away.
"We should head back before they think..." she doesn't finish the sentence but Harry knows what she means.
