Chapter 18

"Scared of what's behind you
And scared of what's in front
Live with what you have now and
Make the best of what's to come"

When Amy wakes up the next morning, she is a mix of emotions. Part of her is glad that it went so smoothly with Derek. Another part of her worries she just threw away a three year relationship. A third part of her is looking forward to the future and discovering more about herself.

Amy showers and gets dressed. She eats some toast with a cup of tea and makes a checklist of things she needs to get accomplished today before her show.

She finishes breakfast and then heads out to her printers to pick up her photos. She is thankful there are no problems and she manages to get them in a cab and back to her apartment.

She gets inside her apartment and calls her sister.

"Hey Sarah!"

"Hey Ames! What's up?"

"Could you do me a big favor? Do you think you could help me get all my stuff to my art show?"

"I thought Derek was helping you?"

"Uh, he had to work," she lies, quickly.

"Yeah, okay. What time?"

"It starts at six but it's supposed to be all ready to go at four."

"Ok I'll come by your place around 3:30 and we can get it all there safely."

"You're the best Sarah!"

"I know!" Sarah says laughing.

"Love you."

"Love you too sis."

Amy is grateful that Sarah would help her on such short notice. She feels bad for lying to her but it wasn't an over-the-phone conversation. She is definitely looking forward to spending some time at the cabin with her.

By the time Sarah calls her at three to tell her she is on her way, Amy has wrapped all her pieces and got them ready for transport. Sarah comes upstairs to her apartment and helps Amy bring them all down to the car. At the gallery, they get hung by the staff with no problems and Amy finally relaxes once it's all done. Sarah takes her back home so Amy can get dressed in something nicer than a t-shirt and shorts and Sarah waits for her to drive her back.

Amy decides to wear a white knit sweater tank with coral colored wide leg pants. She has been wearing more high waisted wide leg pants lately, moving away from the skinny leg silhouette.

When she gets back to the gallery she speaks with the curator for a few minutes. They tell her how excited they are about all her newest work and think that they're going to get a lot of attention.
