"I'm not saying that you're lying
But you're leaving out the truth
And I'm not saying that you're guilty
'Cause I don't have any proof
Feeling like I'm going crazy
And I don't know what to do
'Cause on paper, you don't break them
But it hurts so bad the way you bend the rules"

Harry arrives at Amy's apartment later the next afternoon to leave for the fair. He dresses casually in black jeans and one of his black tour hoodies. Amy is wearing blue jeans and a black silk camisole. She is going to bring a jacket in case it gets cool.

Harry has brought Amy a coffee and a croissant and she gratefully accepts.

"Julien and Alice should be here soon to pick us up. Everyone else is meeting us there," she says as she sits on the couch to lace up her black Keds.

Amy's phone beeps and it's a text from Alice letting them know they are out front. Amy and Harry walk downstairs together and Harry opens the door of the car for Amy to get in. She slides over so he can get in the same side.

"So, tell me what this place is like that we're going?" Amy asks.

"It's a big fair that runs every year for a couple months. There's rides and games and carnival food," Alice says excitedly.

"Oh cool! We have one of those in Vancouver. I love going on rides!"

Harry does not like amusement park rides. He never has but he isn't about to tell Amy this. The drive is only about twenty minutes and they park the car and go inside. Amy insists on buying Harry's tickets saying she invited him so it's only right. He protests but eventually concedes knowing how big she'll smile when he does. He's right and isn't disappointed.

They meet another four of Amy's friends, two men and two women. Introductions with Harry are made and they, like many French people he has met so far, are indifferent about his fame. He finds it a mixture of both relaxing and intimidating. Relaxing because he can just be himself with no pretenses but intimidating because he can't rely on his celebrity to help him. Harry also doesn't speak much French, although he started taking lessons from a tutor. In a group full of native speakers it can be challenging to feel included. He is happy that Amy always makes sure he isn't left out.

The group walks towards the rides and all decide to go on the first one together. Harry is grateful when they pick the Pirate Ship ride as a gentle start to the evening. But right after, the group wants to go on the big rollercoaster that goes upside down. Harry is trying to figure out a way to avoid it when Amy comes sidling up to him. She grabs his arm and lifts it over her shoulder, placing it there while she wraps her other arm around his waist. She looks at him with a begging tone to her eyes and he knows no matter what she asks next, he is going to say yes.

"Would you go on the roller coaster with me? Alice is too scared," she asks, looking up at him with big doe eyes.

He doesn't hesitate at all because how could he when she looks at him like that.
