The water swirled as a basin would, but a grander version of it. We tried to swerve the log around, but it made no difference. We plunged into the bowl of rising water, screaming. The high log we'd been clinging turned vertically as we made our way to the edge of the whirling waters, making us clasp on for dear life. It stayed upright for some time, silence following. Then it swayed, before tumbling backwards, air rushing from behind me. I heard Brianna scream as it fell.

The log crashed onto the water, sending us in diverse directions. I felt the water pour into my ears, and my eyes forced themselves shut. I gasped for air whenever my head bobbed up. Then we neared the centre; the racing sound of the water had been amplified, and I could barely hear Brianna and me screaming. The water swirled us around for some time before sucking us through the centre.

It was a dark abyss of blue- calm, and still. I sank back into the waters, but I felt no urge to breathe or shut my eyes. I turned to see Brianna sinking back as well. We descended until the last vein of light from the surface disappeared, and then darkness ate up the world. I felt something forcefully drag me from behind, deeper and deeper but I didn't resist. The next thing I remembered was seeing was a vein of light like from earlier, and we reached the surface. I panted for air, unaware of how out of breath I was until then. I clambered out examining the area- it was like a cavern, where the surface f the waters we'd just come out of looked like a meer lake. Brianna scrambled out soon after, wheezing for air. She fell on the floor, breathing heavily.

"What...was...that..." she asked between long breaths.
"I don't know," I answered fast.
"How...do..we... get out...of...." she panted.
"You can't..." A voice answered from behind. It was Cody.
