"Cody?" I exclaimed
"Who?" Brianna asked.
"Wait- so he's not your brother?" I asked, quickly remembering what she said earlier.
"No. Why would he be?" She asked.
"I mean, he said his sister got attacked and you said-"
"I never had any siblings," She cut me off.
"Okay," I said, turning back to Cody. "How did you get here?"
"Same as you- through that...thing," He said.
"So we're going to be stuck here forever now?" Brianna asked.
"Yup, I guess," Cody answered.
"No- we have to get out-" I protested.
"What difference does it make, though?" He asked. "I mean, we were going to die anyway, so why not die here?"
"Well that went slightly dark," Brianna said.
"I don't know- it's just I feel like I should at least get some sort of revenge before we die,"
"Revenge? On...?" Cody questioned.
"Her," I responded.
"Me?!" Brianna exclaimed.
"No, not you. She just doesn't have a  name- as far as we're concerned..."
"And by 'we' you mean...?" Cody continued.
"Me and Zinzan."
"Your cat?" He asked. "the one that...talks?"
"Well, he's not exactly a cat, more of a...shapeshifter," I replied.
"Ooh! So what can he turn into?" Brianna asked with sudden interest.
"Well, anything animal or human that exists," I explained.
"So...he can get us out?" Brianna asked.
"well, I lost him-when the waves came in, and I don't think he knows where we are," I said.
"Is it just me who's hungry?" Brianna asked, a hand over her stomach.
"I am too," Cody admitted.
A giant rumble echoed through the cave.
"Woah, Cody, I didn't know you were that hungry," Brianna said.
"That-that wasn't me..."
"Don't look at me!" I protested.
Then two large, milky eyes Illuminated through the darkness.
