"Yes?" Zinzan asked.
"Um...those thugs kinda maybe sorta possibly smashed everything in it back in the canyons..." I said.
"well, where is it?" Zinzan asked.
"back in the canyons," I said.
Zinzan sighed.
"How careless can you be?" Zinzan taunted.
"It's not like I could go up to them and ask them to stop!" I pointed out.
"Anyways, what was so important about that compass?" Cody asked.
"It wasn't just a compass, it tracked certain things," Zinzan explained.
"Certain things?" I asked.
"Well, it pointed itself in the direction of her, and where she was,"
"And you never told me this before because...?"
"Because I knew you were going to be fixed on getting to her to stop her,"
"Fair enough," I admitted.
"So what do we do now?" Cody asked.
Zinzan paused for a moment.
"Must we do something?" He asked.
"Yes, yes we must," I answered. We had to do something, whether it killed us or not.
"Wait can't you just...turn into one?" Cody asked.
"Into the compass? I'm a shapeshifter, not a magician, boy," Zinzan said.
"But can't shapeshifters turn into anything?"
"A common misconception- look, compasses don't breathe, right?"
Cody shook his head.
"Then when I turn into one, how will I not pass out from lack of breath?"
"But if you're a compass you wouldn't need to breathe," He pointed out.
"I'm not going to be a compass I'd just be in the  figure of a compass, my mind and de-materialized form would still be intact- how else do you think I control myself and turn back?"
"Oh," Cody said.
"Yeah, don't believe everything you see on T.V," Zinzan advised.
"I'm glad you're all understanding now, but how are we gonna get to her now?" I asked.
"Look over the edge and tell me what you see," Zinzan said.
"Clouds?" I answered.
"beneath the clouds," Zinzan added.
"Um...I think I see the ocean or something...it's definitely blue," I answered again.
"Oh, good," He said, then stopped flying, and we plummetted once again through the clouds.
