The results

Joe's POV
Ring ring
"Oh it's Ava" I said  (the doctor)
A-ava j-joe
A- hi there is that Joe
J-yes it is
A- hi, we have Safire's results from her hearing test, are you free to come in?
J- yes can we see you in about half an hour?
A- yes that's fine, see you then.
Ends call
"They have Safi's results" I said.
"Okay when are we going"? Dianne asked
"In about 30 mins" I said.
"Okay, I'll go and get safi ready" said Dianne and then she headed up the stairs.

At the doctors
"Hi guys, take a seat" said Ava as we entered her office.
"So I'm sure you're dying to know the results so I'll just get straight to it" Ava began.
"Her hearing's fine, right"? Dianne asked
"Dot! Let her speak" I said.
"Um like I was saying, well you see the thing is Safire is profoundly deaf in both ears" said Ava, Dianne and I just stared at her in shock.
"Now I can see that you're in a bit of a shock, which is totally understandable, but we can offer her cochlear implants, however we can't offer her them until she's at lest a year old, maybe even older as her ears are still developing, the minimum age is usually a year and the maximum is 3" said Ava.
"Right okay and would we know when she's ready to have them? And what can we do until then?" I asked.
"Well once she turns and her old, she'll come in for monthly appointments until she's ready to have her implants fitted and until then we offer several free classes on BSL which is still useful to know as she won't be able to wear her implants all of them time, or sometimes she might not like wearing them" said Ava.
"Look, go home and try and relax, just treat her like a normal, child, still talk to her as it can help her learn how to lip read, but if you have any questions just know that I'm free to call anytime" said Ava and then she passed us some leaflets with different classes on.
