Î sît up abruptly as the sound of a door slammîng shut wakes me from a nap.

"Hey Sîrî, what tîme is ît?"
Î rasp, rubbîng the sleep out of my eyes.

"It is currently 3:43PM."

Î frown.

"Baby, îs that you?"
Î croak, gettîng up to stretch.

She just walks around the kîtchen, slammîng cabînets closed and closîng drawers.

"....Baby? Please be my lovîe and not an întruder."
Î panîc.

Snîffîng.

That's defînîtely her.

And she's crying.

Î lean agaînst the door, my mînd racîng.

"Oh no. Come here, lovîe."
Î open my arms.

She comes shufflîng forward.

"Oh, baby. What happened? Please don't cry."
Î soothe, my mînd wanderîng.

She's never crîed around me, what am Î supposed to do?

Ît's very off puttîng.

She crîes quîetly, her face burîed în my neck.

"Ît's okay, sugar. Î love you. Everythîng îs okay."
Î bîte my lîp as Î stroke her haîr, dread fîllîng my system.

She proceeds to fall sîlent as Î rock her în my arms, my eyes flutterîng closed.

"Now."
Î rasp, pullîng away a lîttle.

"Would you lîke to tell me what's botherîng you?"
Î ask softly.

"No. Î just want to keep slammîng cabînets."
She croaks, snîfflîng some more.

"You scared me for a second."
Î whîsper, cuppîng her wet cheek în my hand.

"Î just had a tough day at work."
She grumbles, slowly coverîng my hand wîth hers.

"Ah. Î'm so sorry, Tîara. Sînce you're home early, would you lîke to go on a walk wîth me? Î'm sure ît wîll clear your mînd."
Î say quîetly.

"Oh, baby. Î love you so much."
She says shakîly, wrappîng her arms around me.

Quincy gets a call about halfway through our walk.

"What does it say?"
He mutters, locating his phone.

I frown as he holds it up.

"It's the hospital. You have the number saved?"
I ask curiously.

He shrugs.

"It's better than having to say the whole number when I ask Siri to call. This is probably about my check up, I've got to take this."
He says, standing up.

"Take your time."
I say, taking out my phone to call Ruby.

"He did what!?"
She yells.

I glance over at Quincy.

He's frowning as he quietly talks on the phone.

I sigh.
