"Oh wow."
Lance wows as we slowly drive by the construction site.I stare out the window silently as Quincy parks the car.
I am very nervous.
"I call the bacon and cheese sandwich!"
Ollie says as Quincy's mom opens the door for him."No running, sweetie."
I hear outside.Quincy and I have been planning a big picnic for the past 2 days.
I've been a bit excited about it, it's been a minute since I've had all of my friends and family together.
Quincy's mom has been fairly quiet, which is a relief.
At first she wouldn't shut up.
And she hasn't been staring at me all throughout meals anymore. That got on my nerves.
In fact, I would say that she's been acting....moderately normal.
We decided to have our picnic at the park across the street from my bakery.
It's already in the works, Quincy convinced me to knock down the giant shed behind the building.
When we came looking, we went in and immediately made me go back out.
It was dirty in there.
I saw a few rats.
I shudder just thinking about it.
I am terrified of rats.
Anyway, the shed is pretty huge so there's a bulldozer.
I thought it would be satisfying to see the shed get destroyed.
Apparently Ollie did too, he's so excited.
"That's your building, darlin'? It's huge!"
Pops says with a smile.Ruby parked behind us and everyone is getting out to see.
Quincy beams proudly as he pops the trunk.
"Yep. My lovie did that."
I grin at him.
I haven't gotten the chance to see him all that much today, I woke up early to help Ruby and his mom prepare the food.
It was a little awkward at first but then we actually had our first real conversation since the first day they came.
It reassured me about a lot of things.
"When are they going to bulldoze it?"
Lance asks, rubbing his hands together. He's just as excited about it as Ollie.
"2:45."
I say, smiling when I feel someone's arms wrap around me.My eyes flutter closed as Quincy pulls me back to his chest.
The Ocean Breeze is extra strong today.
"I didn't get my morning kiss."
He reminds me.I pat his hands absentmindedly, resting my head against his chest.
"You can have all the kisses you want when we get home, baby."
I assure him.He squeezes me.
"The food smells delicious, by the way."
He mutters, his soothing whisper relaxing my shoulders."Your mother likes the baby."
I whisper back, nodding over to her. She's talking to James as she smiles at Gia.
