{Tiara}

I try not to smile as Quincy dances around the kitchen making me a 'pregnancy' breakfast.

"Be careful honey, you might trip."
I say just as Goldie comes barreling in.

She's been running around the house full of energy for days.

Last week she started her first day at potty training school and she's been full of energy ever since.

"Oh my God, you sound like a mommy already."
He sniffles, wiping away a fake tear.

It's been a whole week since I announced my pregnancy and he's still not over it.

It's very cute.

Although it is a bit annoying that he wants to wait and be surprised by the gender when it's time for the baby to be born.

I wouldn't mind either but he's also excited about going baby shopping.

How are we supposed to know what kind of stuff to get if we don't know the gender?

Lance is reading the newspaper silently, seemingly in a grumpy mood.

Their parents went home a couple days ago.

I'm just relieved that we got to mostly get past everything before they left.

Lance on the other hand, is not doing too well.

Apparently he's never been so far away from his parents.

He misses his mama.

"I know she can be a pain in the ass sometimes but deep down she's a really great person. You just have to get used to her."
He told me when I asked.

"So. What's the play today?"
I ask, looking over Lance's shoulder.

His scowl slowly disappears.

He's so nice to me, it's so cute.

"I might just go shopping with you guys. I had a interview for Payroll but it got canceled."
He rolls his eyes.

I frown.

"Aww, why?"

"You haven't been watching the news? There's been like a million flash flood warnings."
He says.

"Oh no."

Quincy panics.

"Don't worry, lovie. We'll be okay, the baby will be okay."
He rushes over.

I pet Puck's fur absentmindedly as he grabs my cheeks and searches for stress on my face.

I'm already used to his overprotective behavior.

"I'm fine, honey."
I assure him, resting my hands on his.

He always looks so rugged in the mornings, it's so sexy.

"Are you sure we should still go out though? I mean, we can wait a few days to go to the furniture store if there's going to be bad weather."
I say as he shuffles back over to the stove.

"What? But you've been excited all week to start decorating your bakery. Plus I've never seen the inside before."
Lance reminds me.

He's right.

"A little rain can't be too bad, I suppose. I can't even remember the last time it rained."
Quincy grumbles, pulling his muffins out of the oven.

"Wasn't it in May?"

There's a knock at the door before he can answer.

Ruby is there, completely out of breath.

"Guys, Michigan is hit. Like just now."
