Aella Theos sat on her bed, doing her work

Aella Theos sat on her bed, doing her work. Lyra was homeschooling her on things necessary for a goddess (or a future goddess) to know. Greek history was probably the only thing Aella struggled with, as it was so expansive.

She couldn't help but yawn, her current work not being interesting in the slightest. She sat up quickly, looking at the clock.

One more hour she thought, twirling her pen around her finger. Then I'll sleep.

Her resolution, though, did not last long as her eyes fluttered shut and she was transported to her true home. The Underworld was dark, as usual, the moon lighting up the night.

She rolled her eyes as she approached the dark, ancient palace, also known as the place she grew up in. If her parents wanted to see her, they should have brought her inside, not outside!

"Welcome back, your majesty." The guards bowed as she went, Aella smiling at them as she passed.

"Princess Aella Jacqueline Theos. Welcome home, you have been missed." The family butler, Gerard, opened the door for her, Aella going inside.

"Thank you, Geri." The older man smiled, ushering her upstairs to her father's office.

While many knew the story of Persephone and Hades, barely anyone knew how the events truly went down. Did Hades kidnap Persephone? No. Was Demeter against Hades and Persephone's union? Yes.

Hades and Persephone met at a gathering that Zeus threw, the two quickly falling in love. They both struggled, Hades thinking it was wrong for him to want Persephone and Persephone thinking the Hades was out of her league. Eventually, they admitted their love for each other, running away to the Underworld together and getting married without Demeter's consent.

Demeter threw a tantrum, in Hades' words, and so the couple had to return to Olympus and settle the matter once and for all. Demeter demanded that Persephone join her side and a deal was made. Persephone would spend six months with Hades, the other six with Demeter.

Since Aella's birth, though, Demeter had been a little less demanding, only asking for three or four months instead of the full six. At first, she wanted Aella to go with Persephone for the six months, but understood that Aella needed her father, relenting.

Hades stood at his bay window, his back to Aella as the door opened. Persephone sat next to him, her legs crossed while a smile graced her lips. She stood, seeing her daughter's face.

"Aella, my darling." She pulled Aella into a hug, Aella sinking into her mother's arms.

"Hi Mom."

Hades slowly turned, his usually flaming red hair a darker shade. His dark brown, almost black eyes scanned the room, landing on Aella.

"Welcome back, my angel."

"Daddy!"

Aella loved both her parents dearly but her father had always, and would always, hold a special place in her heart. She was his pride and joy and he spoiled her, Persephone being the strict parent.

Hades smiled as he held his daughter, kissing her head. He frowned as the scent of wet dog hit his nose, pulling away from her.

"Have you been hanging around wolves or something?"

Aella froze, shaking her head. "Lyra would kill me if I did that."

Persephone smirked, leading her daughter to a chair. "Oh, honey. The look on your face says otherwise."

"It's nothing."

"Aella...."

"Mom, really. There's just a pack of shapeshifters in Forks that I have been hanging out with. They shift into wolves."

"The smell wouldn't linger unless you were....marked by a wolf." Hades contradicted, his frown deepening. Aella blushed at her father's words, covering her face.

"Dad! No! I mean yes, he imprinted on me, but he didn't mark me!"

"He?" Persephone's eyebrows rose.

"Imprinted?!" Hades exclaimed at the same time.

Aella blushed even more. "I may have met a guy in Forks. Well, La Push."

"Ephriam Black's grandson?" Persephone set her arm on her angry husband's arm, calming him.

"If you mean Jacob, then no."

"Well then, tell us about him, honey."

"His name is Jared. He's the pack beta and my boyfriend."

"And soulmate." Hades added dryly, glancing out the window again.

"How did yo-"

"El, I'm a god, I know what imprinting is. I know the Quileute legends." Hades smirked slightly as his daughter's eyes widened in shock.

"Moving on, he sounds great, El. I would love to meet him."

"I would too." Persephone smacked Hades' arm, the man jumping as she did so.

"I would say you can, but I don't want him to be scared away so soon." Aella teased her parents, both laughing as she did so.

"Why did you bring me here, anyways?"

Her parents shared a look, sitting her down. "Aella, your powers have been awfully tame lately. We haven't felt your struggles since you left."

"It must be because if Jared. He helps me train and I've got full control now."

"Jared is a shapeshifter, correct?"

"Yeah. Why?"

"Honey, you're a goddess in training, remember? One day, soon now that you have control again, you'll join us as an Olympian. Jared wasn't meant to be a part of that." Persephone gently said, grabbing her daughter's hand.

Aella pulled her hand away, jumping up and beginning to pace the room. "But we're soulmates! That has to mean something."

"El, we can delay the induction until you and Jared talk this through and make a decision. We won't force you to do anything you're uncomfortable with." Hades reminded Aella, the girl nodding.

"What does Uncle Zeus have to say about this?"

"He wants you to be happy. And for you to master control."

Persephone stood, grabbing Aella's shoulder. "Also, El, I'll be leaving the Underworld soon."

"I forgot that was coming up. Will you be okay alone, Dad?"

Hades shrugged. The months that Persephone spent away were always difficult but he had Aella to keep him company. Now, though, even Aella would be away and since Aella was gone, Dememter insisted on Persephone staying in Olympus for six months again.

"I'll come visit you, Dad, don't worry."

"I'll let Zeus know of your decision to delay." Persephone told her daughter, eyeing the clock on the wall.

Aella yawned, being drawn back to Forks. "I love you guys."

"And we love you." Aella watched her parents embrace as her eyes closed, her back landing on her bed once more.

She sat up, feeling somewhat rested. It was dark out as only an hour had passed. Aella sighed as she leaned back.

She had to speak to Jared.
