Aella Theos walked next to Lyra, her hands hanging loosely at her sides as they moved through the forest. She pointed her finger at a dead plant, watching in satisfaction as it came back to life, flowers growing on it instantly.Today was the training day, training for the battle that would soon commence. Lyra insisted on attending the training with the Cullen's and the wolves even though her training was different and Jared didn't agree with her joining the fight.
Aella and Lyra made it to the travel grounds, Lyra rushing ahead to greet Carlisle. Aella stood in place, turning with a smile when she heard growling. The wolves emerged from the trees, all shifted. Sam stood in front, Jared and Paul flanking his sides.
Aella went to join their side, standing next to Jared. She smiled at him, crossing her arms as she leaned into his side. Usually, Jared would sit so that she could lay next to him but he was tense, defensive around the Cullen's. He couldn't relax, couldn't put down his guard, not even for his imprint.
They don't trust us enough to be in their human form." Edward sighed.
"They came, that's all that matters." Carlisle replied, walking up. "Will either of you translate?" He nodded towards Aella, Aella looking to Edward. They shared a look, Edward motioning for her to start.
Carlisle began to speak again. "Welcome, Jasper has experience with newborns, he'll teach us how to defeat them."
"What makes newborns any different from the usual bloodsucker?"
"Yeah, why are they so hard to fight?"
"They want to know how the newborns differ from us." Aella voiced the wolves thoughts.
"They're a great deal stronger than us because their old human blood still lingers in their tissues. Our kind is never more powerful than in the first few years of their lives" Carlisle stepped back and allowed Jasper to take control.
"Carlisle's right, that's why they're created. A newborn army doesn't need thousands like a human army. No human army can stand against them. The two most important things to remember are first, never let them get their arms around you, they'll crush you instantly. And second, never go for the obvious kill. They'll be expecting that and you will lose." Jasper turned and moved back.
"Emmett!" The two stood parallel to each other, both smirking. "Don't hold back"
"Not in my nature."
Emmett ran at Jasper, Jasper waiting for him with open arms. Emmett pushed Jasper back and threw him into the air, Jasper getting up quickly and running at Emmett. The two ran to each other again, this time Jasper hitting and dropping Emmett, who fell hard.
"Never lose focus." The wolves shifted, watching in interest as Emmett stood up, angrily walking over to his family.
Then were Carlisle and Edward who ran at each other after nodding at each other. Edward jumped over Carlisle and the two ran again, colliding and dodging hits. Edward finally brought Carlisle down, smirking as he believed to have defeated Carlisle. Aella smirked, raising an eyebrow as she read Carlisle's thoughts.
"One more thing." Jasper started as Edward walked away. "Never turn your back on your enemy." Jasper sarcastically said as Carlisle brought Edward down.
Jasper called up Rosalie. He dodged her hits and quickly forced her down before beckoning Alice forward. She gave him a smirk before the fight began.
She dodged his hits, cartwheeling away before he began to attack her again. He gave up hitting her and grabbed her chin, leaning in to kiss her before she disappeared. She jumped off a tree and onto his back. Alice kissed Jasper before jumping off, walking away.
Jasper smiled slightly before turning to Lyra. "You want Aella to practice? I know you won't be there but she will be, correct?"
Lyra nodded, motioning for Aella to go up. Aella sighed, ignoring Jared's stare as she walked to the middle of the field. Jasper searched through the family, grinning when he decided who would face her.
"Edward."
Edward obliged, once again leaving Bella's side. He wiped the dirt off his shoulder from the previous fight, standing parallel to Aella.
"You sure she's ready, Jas?"
Jared growled in protest. "You can get hurt, Aella."
"I'll be fine." She dismissed both Edward and Jared's comments, focusing on her powers. She felt the power running through her veins as she prepared, Jasper counting down.
"Go!"
She waited for Edward to hit her as Jasper did to Emmett, sliding behind him at the last second and pulling his arm back. Edward slammed against the ground, groaning and jumping up again before Aella could do anything to him.
He began to throw hits, Aella dodging them and grabbing his fist. She twisted it, Edward grabbing her arm and stopping her.
He pulled her back, his arm wrapping around her neck. Aella burned his skin, Edward jumping back in pain. She kicked him further back, Edward falling against a tree. Aella had her hand against his throat quickly, vines wrapping him further against the tree and constricting his movements.
Edward rolled his eyes as Aella turned expectantly to Jasper, seemingly bored.
"Nice job, Aella. Your powers will be a great help on the field."
"Can you let him go now?" The anxiety in Bella's voice was noticeable as she stared at her boyfriend, her eyes wide. Aella smirked, snapping her fingers. Edward was let down, rubbing his burnt arm.
"Fair game." He nodded at Aella, passing her to join Bella.
The rest of the training continued, Carlisle thanking the wolves when it ended. Aella approached Jared, his glare trained on Edward.
"Go shift back." She whispered to him, Jared growling but listening. He returned, a pair of shorts loosely hanging on his hips. Jared's arm slipped around Aella's waist, pulling her into his side.
"When he grabbed you, I swear I-"
"He didn't hurt me." Aella cut Jared off, leaning up to press her lips to his. Jared melted, pulling her closer.
"Still. He deserved to be burned." Aella laughed, the couple walking off towards Emily's.
"And he was."
