Aella Theos fell into the gardens if the underworld. The familiar scent of her mother's flowers filled her nostrils and she took a deep breath, trying to stop her tears from falling.
She stood up, heading to where Cerberus was kept, wiping her face. She made it to Cerberus' house, walking inside and smiling despite her pain. There stood her three headed baby, her fully grown puppy.
He barked in happiness, rushing forward to greet his owner. All three heads began to lick Aella's face, Aella scrunched her face up as she pushed his heads away. "Hi baby, I missed you too, bud."
Cerberus barked again, laying down in order for Aella to pet him. Aella fell over him, rubbing his belly and laughing as he rolled over. "There's my good boy." She whispered, scratching his head.
"My good, good boy." It was then that she broke down, sobbing as she remembered the events that led her home and broke her further.
Once she and Leah made it to the house, she had jumped out of the car and headed to her room, locking herself in while destroying anything in her way. She screamed and cried until she fell into a heap on the ground and fell asleep. She gathered enough control to lead her home. She needed to be home, even if it wasn't long.
Cerberus whined as he felt Aella's distress, shifting closer to her in order to console her. He cried with her, whining so loud, it would wake the dead.
Hades entered the dog house, his face falling at the sight of his daughter crying into her dog's side.
"El...." he mumbled, bringing Aella into his arms.
"Thank you for alerting me, Cerberus." The dog whined again, all heads looking straight at Aella. Aella turned in his father's arms, burying herself into his chest.
"We broke up, daddy. He's with someone else." She cried, Hades' heart tightening.
"It's all going to be okay, angel. I promise you that."
"But it hurts so much. Why does it hurt so much?"
"Because love does that to you. When it's good, it makes you feel great, elevated even. But when it's bad, it kills you, tears you to pieces. It's how you know the love is real." He explained, wiping her tears away.
"Make it stop, please dad."
"I can't. Only he can." Hades stood, carrying Aella bridal style and walking inside the palace. He went to her bedroom, setting her down on her bed. Cerberus followed after him, laying on the end on the bed, as if protecting Aella.
"Dad?" Aella asked weakly, looking up at her father as he opened the door to leave.
"Get some rest, angel. I'll be back soon."
"I don't want to go back." Aella whispered, a final tear slipping down her face.
"Then I won't force you." Hades left the room, closing the door and sighing.
"I am going to kill that boy."
....
Maybe it was the anger fuelling him. Maybe he was just curious. Either way, Hades stood before the Cullen home with his arms crossed against his chest.
He was shrouded in darkness, invisible to everyone around him. He focused on Aella's scent, specifically on the scent that had become a part of her. With that, he apparated, following where the scent led.
He appeared before a pack of wolves, positioned in a line around the house. He went to the wolf next to the Alpha, standing tall and strong.
The wolf was unmistakably Jared Cameron, Aella's wolf. Aella's soul mate, according to the Fates. Hades sighed, setting his hand on Jared's fur. The wolf growled, feeling the invisible touch. Sam turned to Jared in concern, only for Jared to fall over.
His eyes squeezed shut as Hades searched through his memories, his memories involving Aella. Hades saw the love the wolf had for the girl and how empty he felt without her.
Hades let go of the wolf as the others crowded him, leaving Aella's face in the front of Jared's mind. Jared howled in pain, remembering everything that he had tried to suppress.
"She is gone." Hades whispered to him, Jared the only one hearing the voice.
"She is in pain and back home. So, be careful what you do, Jared. Because she will suffer based on your decisions." Hades apparated again, this time heading to his palace. He missed right when Jared opened his eyes again, this time human.
Jared sighed as the boys crowded him. Aella's father had come for him, had reminded him of her again.
......
Hades apparated in Aella's bedroom, where she slept soundly.
Cerberus lifted his head, cocking it to the side as he looked over Hades.
"Take care of her." Hades told the dog, petting his middle head.
"She needs us now more than ever.
