Chapter 12
During midnight-at least I think it was midnight- my damn phone began ringing. I was too tired to answer it, so instead, I decided to ignore the crap and go back to sleep.
But being the ass it is, it didn’t stop ringing for a whole 10 minutes.
“Fuck’s sake, answer the damn phone,” Mia mumbled in her sleep.
So much for letting her bunk in my king sized bed.
I groaned. My hands reached for the bedside night lamp and the switch flicked on, exposing my sleepy eyes to the bright light. My eyes scrunched up reflexively blocking the light out.
Clicking my phone open, I growled.
“What?”
“Oh my God Ash, where are you?” screeched Sophie loud voice piercing through my blackberry deafening my ear drums.
“My bed,” I snapped.
“Thank God!”
“Can I go back to sleep,” I whined letting my eyelids drop down.
“Like fuck you can! Why did you run off like that? I searched the whole place for you! You even made me cry on my sweet sixteen!”
“Don’t be dramatic Sophie.”
“I’ll show you dramatic when I get to your house in the morning with Aiden,” she growled.
“Good for you,” I chanted shrugging. “Now, go fuck my brother like you planned, and let me go back to bed.”
“He’s not in the mood anymore, he’s pissed off.”
I sighed. What can a girl do to get her beauty sleep.
“What happened now?”
“You,” she snapped. “He’s worried about your ass and now all he’s thinking about is getting home and beating Nick up with your permission.”
“Is he there?” I asked worried. Even after breaking my heart, I couldn’t let my dumbass brother touch Nick.
“Yes,” I herd her sigh. “He wants to talk to you.”
“Fine,” I grumbled, my sleep was now slowly vanishing. I heard a quiet moment pass as Sophie passed the phone to Aiden. She probably had forced him to stay calm.
“Aiden,” I asked worried.
“Yeah, what?”
He was more than pissed off. I knew my brother inside out. After all, he was my twin. But God, why did brothers have to be so damn overprotective all the time?
“Don’t do anything,” I whispered scared. “Please.”
“Why?”
I paused. “Because, I love him.”
The first time, I had confidently admitted my love for Nick and it actually felt great. Like a huge burden being thrown off my body.
“Really?” he asked confused. Well, it was hard to believe.
“I’ll talk to you tomorrow Aid, but, just don’t hurt him.”
“I wont,” he replied.
“I love you Aiden.”
“I love you too Ashley.”
“Give Sophie her “birthday sex” please,” I moaned. There was no way I was killing my best friend’s birthday wish.
