Chapter 9 - A rest that isn't relaxing

Next morning I woke up as I felt the warm sun rays on my face. I turned to my other side, where I saw Erwin, who was sleeping peacefully. After a few moments He slowly opened his eyes and a tired smile appeared on his face. In the next moment he wrapped his arms around me and pulled closer to him.
"Morning, Dear." He greeted me.
"Morning to you as well, Love."
We laid there a few more minutes to enjoy each other's company, but unfortunately we had a job to do, so we got ready for the day.
"Sooo?" He turned towards me with a confused look on his face. "What did you wanted to tell me about them?" He sight then said.
"You might want to sit down before I tell you." I took a seat and he countinued. "There's a man called Nicholas Lovof. He needs to sabotage our expeditions and He also wants me dead. As I expected he hired those three to do this job." I couldn't decide to scream or not, but Luckily I was too shocked, so there wasn't any sound that could leave my lips. "Just act like you don't know about it." I nodded. He reached his hand and helped me stood up, and we went to the mess hall.

"Erwin! (Y/N)!" Hanji waved to us. "How did you two sleep?" She asked with a wide grin. I felt the heat raised in my cheeks.
"What do you mean?"
"You know." She winked at me but I just sighed.
"Nothing happened." I simply answered.
"Come on! Have you forget the promise about your kid's name?!"
"What promise?! You begged us but we didn't say yes."
"You're such a joy killer..." She crossed her arms like a child.

//Time skip//

Months had passed and Levi with his friends became true soldiers. I didn't speak with them unless it was necessary, although I kept close eyes on them. We were prepared for another expedition but this time the three brats came too. We got on our horses and headed to a gate.
"Hey (Y/N)! Aren't you excited about the new expedition?" Hanji asked me with childish happiness.
"Not really. I just hope there won't be lots of casualties ." I said.
"I see."She stayed silent for a minute but soon she said." (Y/N) we've been best friends for years." I looked at her with a questioning look.
"Help me find out something to capture a titan." She begged.
"Once I promised I'll help you but only if our little action won't cause more injuries."
"It won't I swear." She said excitedly.

Every soldier separated into groups. A few minutes had passed without fight but soon two titans came towards us. Unfortunately one of them was an abnormal. Flagon with an other soldier took down the normal one, and Levi with his friends killed the abnormal one.

Hours later we arrived to a basis. Everyone packed down and started to chat and eat the dinner.
"They were so cool today!" Hanji said excitedly as she talked about the band.
"Yeah, I have to admit that they are a big help for the scouts. They saved many soldiers with their action." I said as we glanced over at them.
"The hatred is the only thing they've been feeling here since they came out from the underground." She said in a sympathetic tone.
"Then go and give them company. Two of them might be happy about it."
"Do you think they would be happy if I gave them cookies?" She hold a little bag with full of her snacks.
"Go and find it out."
"(Y/N) won't you come?"
"I don't want... That's all." I looked at the ground.
"Don't be rude. Show them your kind side, what i saw when we first met."
"Fine. I'll try." A sight left my lips.

The three new member were sitting and chatting with eachother. They didn't noticed us untill Hanji greeted them.
"Do you have a second for us?" She asked with a smile. Levi looked at Hanji with an annoyed look then glanced over at me.
"What do you want?" The black haired male asked with his usual monotone tone.
"You guys were awesome today." She complimented.
"What do you mean?" Isabel asked.
"The way you killed the abnormal titan." Hanji explained.
"It wasn't a big deal." Levi replied.
"Yes it was. You saved several lives today, and thanks to you, we don't have any injured soldiers." Those were my first kind words to them.
"(Y/N) is right. Oh and before I forget. Take it." Hanji handed the cookies to Isabel . " I made them myself." The squad leader said and smiled at them." Anyway, can you teach your techniques to the other members?" She looked at them with hope in her eyes.
"There's nothing to teach."It was clear that Levi already had enough of our company.
"Come on Hanji let them rest. It was a long they to everybody." I told.
"Yeah, See you later guys." Hanji waved as she turned around to leave.

We were walking to the oder side of the room when I whispered to her.
"Are you happy now? I didn't say a wrong word."
"See? It wasn't that hard." She said cheerfully
" I almost died..." I muttered.
"Don't be dramatic." She laughed and nudged me.

//Time skip//

Hours later Moblit, Hanji and I were chatting about how to capture a titan but first we wanted to persuade the male.
"Just imagine it! We could make experiments on them!" Hanji said excitedly.
"Squad leader it would be too dangerous. You could die!" Moblite freaked out.
"Oh, don't worry I won't." Hanji laughed and waved.
"Okay, but how do you want to capture them? You can't just put leashes on the titans and treat the like cute little puppies." I told.
"Why not?"
"Because... Never mind. If you could do it, then would you give them names too?" I asked sarcastically.
"Yes! Thanks the idea, (Y/N)!" She yelled and laughed crazily.
"Section commander! You are a maniac again! Hear me?!" Moblit tried to calm her down but I just chuckled.

Suddenly Isabel started to sing or something like that. She was fairly loud. Every soldiers covered their ears without exception. I barely heard Levi, who yelled at Flagon.
"Go and get her some food or else she won't shut up! Don't ask just do it!"
In the next moment Flagon stood in front of us.
"Do you have something I can give her eat?" I bet he was angry with Erwin for took them in the corps.
"Take it. That's all I have from the dinner." He took it and didn't waste time to give it to her. She finally shut her mouth. The rest of the night was calm and quiet.
