Chapter 11 - Surprises

After the ceremony everyone congratulated to Erwin.
"Hey (Y/N)" Hanji whispered to me. "Don't you think we should give him a gift? He became a commander after all."
"Good idea. I've already had an idea." I smirked." Come with me to the market."
"Oi. What are you two planing?" We heard a monoton voice and turned towards Levi.
"A dinner. So we're going to buy some ingredients." I explained.
"Join us, Shorty!" Hanji was full of her usual excitement. The black haired male wasn't happy about the nickname but the female squad leader got hers as well.
"I'll skip it, Four eyes." He was ready to leave but I stopped him.
"At least make sure of that Erwin won't find it out." He stayed silent for a bit but agreed.

//Time skip//

We were walking on the busy market street.
"So what do you plan to cook?"
"Goulash soup. We need vegetables and meat."
"But meat is very expensive. Is it really a good idea?"
"Don't worry. I saved enough money to buy everything, including the meat." I smiled at her that she returned.
"Good because I can't remember when was the last time when I ate meat." After we had bought everything we headed back to the HQ with carrots, turnips, onions, spices and beef.

We sneaked in the kitchen. First Hanji was braising the onions while I was preparing the meat. I put the beef in the cauldron too. We also added the spices and some water. We peeled and cut the vegetables into pieces and put them in the pot. When the soup was almost done we added the pasta. "Ok, We're ready. Let's get the others." I told her. We stepped out from the kitchen and met with Levi.
"Oi! Are you finished?" He asked.
"Yes. Where is Erwin?"
"In his office. Before you ask he thinks that you had gone to the town to buy some medicine."
"Thanks Levi. I owe you." I smiled at him.
"Just keep Shitty Glasses away from me."
"Dou you know what? You can ask two accomplishable things. Nobody can escape from her."
"That's right." Hanji said proudly and grinned. She forced Levi to come with us and send our comrades to the mess hall. After we had spoken with everyone I told Hanji and Levi to follow them. They did as I said.

I went to Erwin's office and knocked. When he gave me permission to enter I went over to him and gave him a kiss. When we pulled away I glanced at the bolo tie.
"You know it suits you, Commander." A wide smile appeared on my face. He put a hand on my face and stroked my cheek.
"I promise I'll do everything to spend as much time with you as I can." As a response I hugged him.
"Come I guess the dinner is ready." He nodded and we went to the mess hall. We entered and everybody saluted except Hanji, who gave him a glass of wine.
"Congrats, Eyebrows!!!!!" She hugged him and the blond man almost spilled the liquid.
"Hanji let him go. We came to eat after all." I said with a laugh. She grabbed our arms and dragged us to the cauldron. 

After we finished the dinner Hanji wanted to play a game like truth or dare.
"Sooo? Levi-"
"Don't even start, shitty glasses. I'm not playing."
"But Leviii!!!!"
"No."
"Just a few minutes. If you don't enjoy, then you can leave and non of us will stop you." I told him and he sighed and nodded.
"Okay, only a few minutes."
"Yahoo!! Thanks, Shorty!" Hanji said excitedly. "Then let's start with you." She said to the short male. "Do you like anyone here? I mean that way."
"Tch. You're pathetic. But no, I don't like anyone."
"Oh. Well alright, then it's your turn." Hanji shrugged and said.
"Is she really your best friend? You're a normal woman but she's insane." He asked me.
"Yes and I admit that sometimes she can be a little bit crazy." I laughed.

After we had finished the game everyone went to their dorms. Except me because Erwin asked me to follow him to his office.
"(Y/N). There's something I want to give you." He took out a box from the drawer of his desk. "Open it." I did as he said. My eyes widened as I saw a beautiful necklace in it. "My father gave this jewelry to mother when he proposed her. (Y/N) I know it's a huge risk in the corps, but I'll do everything to protect you and I'll stay by your side till the end of the time. I'll always love you. So (Y/N) answer me. Would you like to spend the rest of your life with me?" I was shocked and surprised. The tears of happiness rolled down on my cheek.
"Of course I'd love to, Erwin." He put the necklace around my neck and kissed me. At that point nothing could ruin my happiness.
