Chapter 15 - Poor kid

Three years had passed and we went on an other expedition. This time we went towards south so we would use the gate in Trost. As we were riding towards the Wall we heard the people's cheers. Most of them praised Levi.
"Hey Shorty! I swear if they knew how clean freak you truly are, then they wouldn't praise you." Hanji laughed and Levi gave a 'tsk' sound.

Hanji became more excited as we were standing in front of the wall.
"I hope we can capture an abnormal!!!" Hanji said excitedly.
"Why? We have you." Levi said.
"Aww I've already seen the next lovely couple." I said with a laugh.
"(Y-Y/N)!!!!!" "Idiot..." Hanji and Levi said and the female squad leader was the one who blushed.

We were in a district that had used to be lived by people. But this time there were only a few titans. I swinged and cut the Achilles tendons in the creature's leg and cut the back of it's neck and landed on the titan's corpse.
"(Y/N)!" I turned towards Erwin who landed next to me with the help of his 3DMG. "Don't you think something is wrong? We should be surrounded by several titans not only few ones."
"Yeah, it's pretty unusual but we may have a lot of luck today."
"I don't think. Most of them are going towards the Wall Rose."

Soon Erwin ordered us to go back as fast as we can. When we arrived back to Trost we saw the gate that was crushed. We were almost there when out of the blue a huge stone blocked our way. We didn't hesitate to use our gears to reach the top of the wall. There we could saw a few people standing on a titan while two other creatures were heading towards them. Levi jumped and used his amazing skills to kill the titans.

Soon we landed and Hanji and I recognised the three kid who were wearing the training corps' uniform. Eren was unconsiosnes so Armin laid him down on his back on the ground and I started to examine him. Everyone left to fight against the titans except the two teenager, Hanji and me. Firstly I held his head so I could grant the way of the air to his lungs. After that I leaned over him close enough to hear and feel when he blew out the air and I also was watching his chest as it raised and fell in a steady rhythm. I put three fingers on his carotid artery to feel his pulse. (A/N: The examination of the carotid artery can be used only by those who had the right education.) Eren didn't have any kind of problem so I was about to put him in recovery position when the members of the military police arrived.
"We have an order to arrest him." "What?!" Hanji and I said in the same time while Mikasa stood up in a fighting position.
"And who the hell gave that order to you?" My best friend yelled.
"Non of your business." One of those bastards told.
"Answer." Mikasa said in a threatening tone as she raised her swords.
"Stop." We heard Erwin's voice. "They have a job to do, so don't stop them." He said while he was looking at us then glanced over at the military police's members. They took Eren and left. Armin was the only one who could stop Mikasa to go after them.

After this incident we went back to the HQ. I knocked and Entered Erwin's office.
"So? What now?" I asked and walked to the window and glanced out. He stood next to me and handed me a letter. When I read it I spoke. "Really? A trail? The MP bastards usually do nothing except now? Do you have any idea what will you say to convince them?"
"Not yet. Firstly I want to speak with Eren but I need permission. Hopefully I'll get that soon." He said than looked at me. "You know them right?"
"Yeah, I've met with them a few times before."
"Do you know what this key opens? It was around Eren's neck." He held up the object.
"I've never seen it." I sight and rubbed my temple. "Erwin, I'm not their friend or mother but please do everything for them. They are still kids after all." He put a hand on my waist and pulled me into a hug.
"I will I promise."

Next day I was speaking with Hanji and explained the situation to her.
"Really?! I'll kick their asses!" She said angrily. Soon Erwin and Levi came to tell us they had got the permission.
"Hanji, you're in charge till I come back."
"Understood, Eyebrows." She said with a wide smile and Erwin turned around to leave but Levi still had something to say.
"Look after her." He whispered and both of them left. The rest of the day I was babysitting her and we were waiting for the men to come back.
