Chapter 16 - Military police vs Survey corp

A week later every corps were in a large courtroom while we were waiting Eren. Mikasa and Armin were there as well despite that they were still part of the training corps.

Mike and Hanji had to escort Eren to the courtroom. Minutes later the two squad leaders brought him in and stood next to me. Eren had to walk to the middle of the room where he had to kneel down and his handcuff was attached to a pole.

Finally the trial had begun. The judge explained everything to Eren. I wasn't sure if the kid was scared or angry. Maybe both, but it wasn't a big surprise after all.

'Amazing... The boy's future will be decided today.' I thought while I was tapping my fingers against my tight. I got lost in my thoughts as different kind of scenarios popped in my mind sequentially. My thoughts started with the 'what if' part, that didn't help at all. My nervousness only got worse.

I was brought back to reality as Eren started to speak when a soldier suggested to put under arrest the boy's friend, Mikasa. To be honest he had more courage than most of the soldiers.
"You only make up theories to get what you want." Everybody looked stunned since no-one expected him to speak. But their attention was on him, so he continued. " You don't even no what you're talking about. You've never even see a titan before." He was determined. I wasn't sure if he was brave or stupid. "If you aren't willing to fight, then at least don't stop those who can! So shut up and let me help!" He yelled the last part.

Almost every soldier in the room was terrified. The military police was ready to execute him, as they targeted him with a gun. At the same time Levi walked up to Eren and didn't hesitate much to kick him right in the face. One of his tooth fell on the floor. The older man kept kicking him. Head, stomach and head again and again. To be honest several times. Finally he forced him on the ground by stepping on his head.

"In my opinion words aren't the best way to educate you. You need training instead." He kicked Eren a few more times.
"W-wait Captain Levi!" The head of the military police stuttered. The shorter man glanced at him. "Aren't you afraid he'll turn into a titan and use that power against us? "

"No. If he were against us, he wouldn't have killed those titans, and would have caused more trouble. Even in the worst case, he wouldn't stand a chance against me, but the same can't be said about you." He answered. At least his confidence wasn't based on nothing. He wasn't calld the strongest for nothing.

"Sir! I'd like to suggest to put Eren into Captain Levi's squad." The Judge looked at Erwin and raised an eyebrow.
"Continue." He told to the blond haired commander.
"Eren's power is a complete mystery and we don't know its limits. The best way to test him is outside the walls. He can be useful to humanity."
After a few minutes most people was shocked since the judge allowed Eren to join us .

After we got permission to release Eren, Hange and I escorted him to a little room. We had to help him walk so as soon as we had a chance, we sat him down. Erwin, Levi and Mike followed us.
"You alright kid?" I asked while I was checking his injuries.
"No, he's not! He was beaten up by Levi! Hanji answered while she was preparing some supplies to clean Eren's wounds.

"Was that really necessary, you little shit?! You could have kicked a bit weaker. One of his tooth was kicked out!" I glared at Levi who was leaning against the wall. Hange was faster with the reply.
"Yeah. Look, here it is." She showed us the tooth.

"That's disgusting. Put that away." Levi commented.
"Yeah, so we can examine it later." I whispered to her and the black haired male rolled his eyes.
"You two are insane." Levi replied then turned to the younger male. "Say Eren. Are you mad?" He asked the kid.
"N-no.. You had to do it. I understand the reasons."

"Good to hear that. We needed the most effective way to have you under Levi's command."  Erwin kneeled infront of the boy. He smiled at him showing that Eren can trust him.
After everything was settled the kids reunited and we also went to do our jobs.

Later that night I made some tea to have some nice time at that stressful day. I put everything on a tray and went to Erwin's office. I knocked and entered as I heard his voice.
"You're overworking yourself again." I told him as I put down the tray.
"You know I have to finish it. But why are you still up? I thought you are already asleep." He was examining my expressions. "You're still worried for him, aren't you?"

"Where did you get that ide from? It's completely a life-insurance to be in the military." I replied sarcastically.
"Levi's going to be looking after him. And you saw him during the trial. He won't die that easily. So don't worry." He tried to reassure me as he put a hand on mine. I smiled at him as an answer.
