"So what did Blondie want to talk to you about?" Jonathan asked in a bitter tone.

"His name is Armin," I stated.

"Whatever," Jonathan muttered.

"It's nothing," I said. "I just needed to clear up some things."

"What things?" Jonathan asked.

"Some things," I said. "But I have to say..." I glanced over at the door where Armin walked through and over to his friends. "He knows his shit."

"What do you mean by that?" Eagan asked.

I focused back on my loaf of bread. "Nothing."

"Are you interested in him?" Eagan asked while doing an eyebrow wiggle.

"She certainly is not!" Jonathan shouted. "Right?"

"He's right," I stated. "Armin is nothing more than another person who walks this earth. I told you, 'love' will get you into nothing but trouble."

"Whatever, I'm enjoying my teenage girl fantasies and struggles," Eagan said. "And you, Del. One day you will like someone, and you will never be able to stop thinking about him. Next thing you know, you are deeply in love!" She playfully poked me.

"Shut up," I said. "I will never fall in love one day. I won't let myself."

Eagan and I headed back to our dorm. I walked into the room tired and plopped on the bed. I felt inside my pillow for the charm bracelet for comfort. However, it wasn't there.

I instantly shot up from my bed and searched every corner of the room.

"What are you looking for?" Mina asked.

Naturally, I didn't answer, because that would reveal that I had jewelry. That could result in it being taken away from me.

"Del?" Eagan raised her eyebrow.

"I'm missing something," I stated.

"That's pretty obvious," Annie said while leaning against the wall with her arms crossed. She held up the charm bracelet up in front of her. "You know you aren't allowed to bring jewelry, don't you?"

I walked over to take it, but Annie tucked it into her fist.

"Give it back," I stated.

"Give me a reason to give it back," Annie said.

"I'll give you two reasons," I said.

I immediately flicked open my switchblade and held it against Annie's throat. I heard the other two girls gasp.

You fucking idiot. Why did you do that? I thought to myself. I tried my best not to show regret.

"That charm bracelet," I began, "was given to me by one of the only few people who have ever cared about me. I made a promise to keep the bracelet. So I hope you understand, I can't lose it."

"What about the switchblade?" Annie asked.

"That's the thing," I said. "If I decide to let you live, I'm going to have to trust you and these two girls to keep this a secret. However, I'm bad at trusting people. Break my trust, and I'll break you, got it?"

Annie scoffed. "You talk a lot of shit for someone who doesn't know how to fight."

I looked away her. "I know how to fight," I flicked the switched the blade back in. "I just don't know if I can fight well against you."

"Then, I guess I have two reasons to give it back," Annie said. "One not being the switchblade."

I wondered what her other reason was. I held out my hand wanting to once again have the bracelet in my possession. Annie dropped the bracelet into my palm.
