I've been charged with murder. I never thought that I would turn myself in for that. In fact, the reason that I joined the military was to never see the wretched man who began all my problems again.
I looked around at my surroundings.
But here I am, in a prison cell, waiting for my unfortunate demise.

I stayed by her side until I knew she was gone. I relieved her from the harsh realities of this world. She was never going to make it. Liana couldn't make her own decisions if her life depended on it. She was always following someone or something else.
That was usually the popular opinion.
I took a cloth and washed the kitchen knife in the sink. I had to pull up a chair since I was so short. I watched as the dark color drained down the sink. Once I was finished, I put the knife back where it belonged and left the house.

Looking back, I was so messed up as a child.
Even after I knew his words were messed up, I still find the unfortunate truth in them.

"I'm doing this for you, Taylor. You regretted your choice, and you were stuck. I helped you out of it."
I stepped back to look at the ground that I buried her under.
"You won't have to suffer anymore."

I barely have time to regret what I have done, but I know that what I did was wrong. I've accepted my fate.

"Del-"
"I can stop this whole thing for you," I said to Eagan, pointing the switchblade towards her. "Just say so, and I will do it."
She smiled, "I don't want you to live the rest of your life with your hands stained."
"I'm already living like that," I admitted.
"I know," Eagan nodded. My eyes widened. "We know what happened with Taylor. Well, Jonathan saw you, then he told me."
"That was a while ago," I looked down at the switchblade at my hand as it began to shake. "I don't think I will ever be able to kill again."
There was no way I could do something like that ever again. I didn't want to. I was so wrong...
"I want you to," Eagan stated.
"But I just-"
"I'm asking you to," she begged. "There's no way I could raise a child in those conditions. I'm sorry I'm asking such a terrible thing from you, but I don't want to live out there."
My hands started to shake even more, but she reached out and steadied my grasp with her warm palms.
"So please..." She smiled one last time.

I couldn't help but wonder, was there one choice I could have done differently to have prevented this mess I called my life?

I stared down at the box. This was it. I was going to the military. Holding the scissors in my hand, I steadied my grip.
