My head felt hazy.
"What a shame..."
The voices sounded so muffled, like I was hearing it from underwater.
"I wonder how they died. With these wounds, I don't think it was a titan."
"Wait! This ones still alive!"
"What should we do?"
I felt my body move, but I wasn't controlling it.
"You're taking her with you? Where are we going to put a body."
"She isn't technically a body, yet. She's not dea..."

"Is she alive?"
"Barely."
"Oh... Del."
That voice...
"Can you hear me?"
Sounds...
"Please hang in there, okay? We're going to make our way back soon."
So familiar...

"Get the disinfectant! We need to treat her now or we'll lose her."
I felt a warm hand squeeze mine.
"This will sting, but we need to clean the wound."
"Ar...mi," I managed to speak.
"She's conscious!" He said triumphantly.
"Hey, bite down on this." It was a woman's voice. Something was placed in my mouth.
I felt a liquid pour into my wound. It burned as it ran down my arm. As if I was being engulfed by a fire. I tried not scream, but I couldn't help but thrash around when it seeped into the wound. All the sounds I managed to release was muffled by the cloth.
"She's in pain..."
"Damn, this is a long wound. Just a little more, okay?"
I felt the burning sensation again.
"Armin, the cloth."
The pain lessened a little, but it was still a lot to bare. I slowly began to lose conscious again until I couldn't even hear my own thoughts.

I felt my eyes begin to open again. At first everything was blurry, but my surroundings began to focus. I looked around.
I was laying on a bed. The room had a single window where the light shined through. It casted a light glow onto the wooden floor below me.
I tried to sit up, but I winced at the pain in my stomach. I wanted to clutch it, but I knew that I probably shouldn't touch it. I tried to remember the last time I was awake, but it felt like a distant memory.
How long had it been?
I was determined to try and sit up. So I tried getting up from the side, but it was still painful. I heard the door open.
"Del!" I looked up to see Armin. He immediately dropped the tray of medical supplies he was holding and ran over to me. "Careful, you're still recovering." He helped me sit up.
"How long has it been?" I asked him weakly.
"Five days," he stated. "Your recovery has been going a lot slower than expected, but I'm glad you're alright."
