Chapter 45

A month later, Asia no longer had a cast. So,  they even started packing up the house. Asia found some things at the house that she had in the closet that she thought josh might want and she decided to bring it to him.

Josh opens the door. "Hello there stranger", Asia said.

"Hey", Josh said.

Asia walks into the house and sees G.

"Hey G", Asia said.

"Hey", G said. "Heard you was moving"

"I am", Asia said as she walked to the couch.

G looked at her stomach.

Asia looked at him as she sat down and he quickly looked at her face. "Congrats", he said.

Asia nods. "Thank you... um... I'm not sure how Jamal will feel about this but would you like to come to dinner with all of us for our going away?"

G nods. "I'll see if I can make it", he said as he got up. "Imma head out though. It was nice seeing you"

"Nice seeing you too", Asia said.

G daps Josh up and leaves.

"What's wrong with him?", Asia asked .

Josh shrugs his shoulders as he sat down next to her. "The baby, I guess", Josh  said.

Asia was quiet.

"But why'd you come?", Josh asked. "What's the box"

Asia smiled. "Just some old things that found at the house before you...well left for 14 years", she said as she went into the box. "See look, I found a few of your chains, pictures of us at the movies, and a few other things"

Josh picked up the one of the strips of a photo booth pictures and smiles. "I remember this one. I remember we watch that horror movie and you were scared to go to the bathroom during the movie because you were scared something was going to be behind on you in the mirror...scary ass"

Asia chuckles. "Listen.. you can never be too sure", asia said.

Josh chuckles before he looks in the box. "Can't believe you kept this stuff", Josh said.

"The only thing I had left of you at the time", Asia said.

Josh nods as he looks at the other pictures. "We were so young.. happy.. then I started fucking up", Josh said.

"... Josh...you were a good man to me. I mean sometimes you let the anger get the best of you... but at the end of the day you tried your best. Even if we are not together anymore, I'm happy for the man that you are becoming. You're so much more mature and you've calm down a lot and I'm proud of you"

Josh nods.

Asia puts her hand on his thigh. "And if it wasn't for you.. I wouldn't be the woman I am today.", Asia said with a smile.

Josh puts his hand on top of her hand. "You know... when I was gone... my only thought was.. I don't wanna loose my wife, my kids.. they are the only ones I got. They are my life... then when I got back you were mine still and then I lost you...then my nightmare came true", Josh said. "But truth is I guess it's something that needed to happen for me to understand my wrong doings. Asia I love you, and I never stopped loving you. But I am happy for you because you're happy and I look forward to seeing you happy even when start another family"

Asia wipes her tears.

"I matured because of you.. God took the best thing away from and made her stop loving me and turned it into a lesson... so that I could mature and stop being that old Josh", Josh said. "Thank you"

Asia nods and hugs him.

Josh slowly hugs her back.

"I never stopped loving you josh. That's not why I divorced you...", Asia pulled away. I divorced you because our relationship wasn't healthy. So much stuff happened.. our relationship went downhill because of it. You weren't happy and neither was I because of all the stuff that each one of us did or went through. The divorce was a blessing because you've been happy, you had everything lifted off your shoulders, you stopping blaming yourself for things you had no control of, you got your life together, you met a beautiful woman that you need to make sure you do right by and you have beautiful kids... and me? I've been good as well..so don't think that you weren't good enough...minus the abuse... you were good at heart"

Josh nods.

Asia gets a phone call and looks at her phone. "This is Jamal", Asia said as she got up. "I should go"

"Bye", Josh said with a smile.

"Hey I haven't seen one of those while you talk to me in a while", asia said.

"I guess I just needed to get that off my chest to really move forward", Josh said.

Asia smiles and nods. "See you later Josh", Asia said.

Josh nods.

Asia answers the phone. "I'm on the way baby", she said as she walked out.
