Chapter 49

The next day Vanessa walks into a mechanic shop.

"Hey how may I help you", a guy asks.

Vanessa looks in the back and sees G talking to one of the employees.

"Yea, I came in yesterday to get something done to my car and somebody did not do a good job", Vanessa said.

"I'll have to get boss man for that", he said as he walked to the back and came back with G.

"Hey, how can I help you", G asked.

Vanessa smiled. "Well, I believe my car didn't get repaired properly here yesterday and I just wanted my money back", she said.

"Are you sure? I think I would remember your face", he said.

"Yea. My sister came for me actually. I had to work", Vanessa said.

G nods as he gets on the computer at the desk. "Can I get a name", he asked.

"She should've put my name.. Vanessa Sanders", she said.

G types it in her name and and shakes his head. "No ma'am", G said.

"Try Cara Sanders", Vanessa said.

"No Cara either", he said as he looked at her.

"That's weird", Vanessa said.

"Listen maybe she didn't get anything done to the car. I can assure you that my workers are the best workers in the city and we never leave our customers disappointed", G said.

Vanessa smirks. "Including you?", she asked.

"Including me", G said.

"Hmm", Vanessa said. "Maybe I should come back when I'm free for myself to get my car done"

G nods.

Vanessa grabs a pen and one of the business cards and writes her number on the back of it. "And maybe I can see you on my free time as well", she said.

G smirks. "Maybe", he said.

Vanessa smirks and walks out.

Asia looks around her shop

"Hey, Ms. Carter", the lady said. "Everything is almost set up and ready"

"Everything is looking great", Asia said. "I'll put the supplies up"

The lady nods.

Asia walks around the shop.

Jamal comes in with Kim.

"This place is coming along good", Jamal said.

Asia looks at him.

"Can't wait for be your first customer", Jamal said.

Asia smiles. "What are you two doing here?", she asks.

"I was dropping Kim off at practice and decided to come by", Jamal said.

"That sweet but unfortunately I have to spend my time putting everything up", asia said.

"Wheres Nicole?", he asked.

"The restroom", Asia said.

Nicole walks out the restroom.

"Hey what took you so long?", Asia said.

"Changing out my feminine product", Nicole said.

Asia nods.

"Okay, so that my cue to go", Jamal said. "I'll see you two later"

"Where's Jakobi?", Asia asked.

"At home. He said he staying in to play the game", Jamal said.

Asia shakes her head. "I'm taking that game away tonight", Asia said. "Nicole start putting things up. Come on help me"

"Okay", Nicole said.

"I'll let you two get to that", Jamal said.

"See you later Asia and Nicole", Kim said.

"See you sweetie", Asia said.

"Bye", Nicole said.

Jamal and Kim left.

"So...when exactly does your stomach get bigger? You don't even look like you're pregnant", Nicole said as he put product on the shelve.

"It takes a few months until a pregnant woman shows really big", Asia said.

Nicole nods.

"When I was pregnant with the two of you I was huge because of course I had two kids", Asia said.

"So it depends on the size of the baby", Nicole asked.

"Kinda sort of", Asia said. "I don't really know...why are you so interested all of a sudden?"

"Just asking.. making conversation mother", Nicole said with a smile.

Asia nods. "You must be up to something", she said.

Nicole chuckles. "Mom come on. I'm not", she said.

"Okay whatever you say", Asia said.

Nicole was quiet.

A week later Josh and G were playing pool.

"Man what has been up with you lately", Josh said as he aimed his pool stick.

"Hear me out.. I met this chick and she is fine. I took her out on a date last night and she is great... kinda reminds me of Asia though", G said.

Josh hits the ball and gets two of his balls in. "Where'd you meet her?", Josh asked.

"At my shop", he said.

"You fucking a customer G, come on man we talked about this. Don't miss business with pleasure", Josh said.

"When she looks like that, I had no choice", G said.

Josh chuckles. "What's her name?", Josh asked as he aimed his pool stick

"Vanessa", G said.

Josh stood up. "Vanessa? That name sounds familiar", he said.

"I wouldn't be surprised, she let me hit on the first night. Maybe you talked to her before", G said.

Josh shakes his head. "Nah", Josh said. "Wait.. what's her last name?", Josh asked.

"Shit I forgot", G said.

"What does she look like?", Josh asked.

"Around Asia's height, brown skin, pretty", G said.

"Did she have a tattoo on her neck?", Josh asked.

"Yea. It was an infinity symbol", G said.

"Nah.. dont fuck with her. That bitch is crazy", Josh said as he aimed the pool stick at the black ball. "That's the girl who set Asia up"

"I knew shit was too good to be true", G said. "Damn"

"... she is kinda cute though. But she crazy as hell. Just about killed that bitch", Josh said.

"Hell I would've killed her for almost killing my kid", G said.

Josh nods. "Tryna be a better man", Josh said. "Had to learn the hard way that killing people don't resolve nothing... at the end of the day you still gone feel that same pain and regret"

G nods. "That's wise coming from you", G said.

"Yea", Josh said as he hit the ball and knocked his last one in. "Guess I'm just a new man huh?"

"Guess so bruh", G said.
