Chapter 69

Later that evening Nicole had a beautiful boy. She named after her brother and named him Kobi.

Nicole held Kobi in her arms and cherished every moment.

Josh and Asia looked at Nicole and the baby.

Asia shakes her head and gets up and walks out.

Nicole looks at Josh. "What's wrong with her?", Nicole asked.

"I don't know", josh said as he got up. "But I'm about to find out"

Josh walked out to see Asia sitting on a bench.

"I guess I'm probably the last person you wanna talk to right", he said. "But are you okay?"

"Josh...it's just.. I don't know", she said.

"Look. I'm sorry that I made these awkward. I'm not the person you belong with and I understand that", he said.

"Here I was being mad at him, and myself and blocking him out because of Jakobi and he didn't even do anything , he even tried to shoot back...but now it's just like I want is for him to be with me", she said.

Josh nods.

"I'm sorry. At one point of time josh I loved you with all me heart, and I thought that maybe you'd change and we could have a fresh new start... but...I found somebody else and he makes me happy and I love him", she said.

Josh sighs. "Yea, I know", Josh replied. "I know and I respect it"

"Thank you", Asia said.

"Now...we have a grand baby to welcome into the world", he said.

Asia smiled. "Well at least I get one good thing out of the week", she said.

Josh nods as he stands up. "After you", he said.

Asia stands up and walks back into Nicole's hospital room and Josh follows her.

The next day Nicole and Asia were back in New York. At the moment they were staying in a hotel because she didn't have the guts to contact Jamal.
She suspected that he was still made at her. She suspected that by this point he was done with her for good.

Nicole was at school and Asia was at home taking care of the baby. All he did was cry unless Asia held him. So Asia basically had him in her arms everywhere she went.

Kobi finally fell asleep and has been sleep for a while in her arms. She placed him on the bed and sighed of relief. She walked to the fridge and he began crying again.

"Lord why me?", she said looking up. Asia walked to Kobi. "You're just as bad as your mom and late uncle", she said.

Kobi just cried.

Asia sits on the bed and holds him as he cries. She began to sing a lullaby. After a while the baby stopped crying and Asia continued to sing.

Suddenly it was a knock on the door .

Asia got up and looked through the peak hole and saw Nicole.

She opened the door and Nicole walked in.

"I thought you were staying after school. How did you even get here", Asia asked.

"Well I might as well start calling him my step dad", Nicole said as she put her bags down and walked to Asia to get the baby. "How is mommy's baby?", Nicole asked.

Asia looked out in the hallway and didn't see anyone.

"You were talking about Jamal right?", Asia asked.

"Yea", Nicole said. "He just dropped me off. I called him because I couldn't get a hold of you"

"I'm sorry my phone died and I forgot to put it on the charger", Asia said.

"How was Kobi anyways?", Nicole asked.

"Let just say you'll see", Asia said. "I'm about to go to the hospital and see your sister. Call me if you need me. I'll charge my phone in the car on the way"

"Okay", Nicole replied.

Asia grabbed her things and left.

Asia walked on to the unit and signed in.

"Long time no see", the secretary says.

"Yes I've had a pretty rough thanksgiving", Asia said as she signed her name.

"That's understandable", she said.

Asia nods and walks to go see raelynn but Jamal is already there. She stops and stands there for a moment and then walks up to him.

Jamal looks at her.

"H- hey", Asia said.

"Hey", he said.

Asia walks to the other side. "Seems like forever since I've seen her"

"Yea... but I'm going to head out", he said.

Asia was quiet. She didn't make eye contact with him.

Jamal walked out of the room.

Asia sighed.

Jamal walks back in. "Um Kim wanted time to tell you that she has a dance performance on Tuesday", he said.

"Okay", she said. "I'll be there"

Jamal nods.

"Jamal?", Asia said.

"Yea?", he replied.

"I love you", she said. "All I want is you I promise you that. Every bit of me. I made a mistake that I'm glad I didn't let go to too far. I was depressed and I was vulnerable. I'm sorry"

"So what? You going to do that again the next time you're depressed and vulnerable", Jamal asked.

Asia looks down. "It won't ever again, I promise", she said.

Jamal looks down. "...so..y'all in a hotel?", he asked.

"Yea. Which is pretty expensive because I wanted the best one for the baby even though none of them would be good because all the people that have been in and out", asia said. "I'm looking for an apartment"

Jamal nods.

Asia looks at the baby and changes the subject. "Every time I got here she's sleep", Asia said.

"Yea she just fell asleep", he said.

Asia sigh. "Well I'm not going to wake her. I might as well head out", she said.

"Yea me too", he said.

They both left the unit and got into the elevator.

"I um..I'll let you know when I find an apartment so I can come get my things. I still have the key, I didn't know if you wanted it now or then", she said.

Jamal didn't say anything.

Asia stops looking at him and looks at the elevator floor number. It finally reached the ground level. They walks out and Asia and Jamal go separate ways.

Asia walks with her head down and Jamal stops and looks back at her.

"Asia?", he called.

Asia looked back.

"Go ahead and check out of the hotel and come home", he said.

Asia smiles and nods.

Jamal walks to his car.

Asia walks to hers.
