"Hey, I think we should go to your house already." Ellie said, finishing her last bite of her sweet apple pie.

Julio took the napkin from the table and wiped his mouth of the mushroom soup.

"Yeah," He said, checking his watch. "It's already 4 o'clock."

Ellie then stood up and slung her backpack on her shoulder, applying lip gloss to her lips after she wiped it with the napkin.

Julio looked at her for a brief moment, confused, but then looking down at her glossy lips, his face flushing a little pink hue.

He quickly turned around so the girl wouldn't notice, rubbing his nose to cope with the male's,

Sudden attraction.

The latter rubbed her lips together and looked back at Julio, who had a slight flush of red on his face and went to pay the owner.

She smirked and walked to him, purposely puckering up her lips and gave him a teasing wink, which Julio rolled his eyes at.

"Like what you see, Koch?"

Julio took out his navy blue wallet, his favourite colour being navy blue if you hadn't noticed, and zipped it open.

"Not really, but you could apply that a little less messily, Parker." He said with a sneer.

Ellie unconsciously went to touch her lips before flushing red and walking out the door.

"I'll be waiting outside. And tell me how much money was the food. I need to pay you back." Se said, closing the door, the bell on the door jingling in response.

The owner, Mr. Finley, who was at the counter turned to Julio and gave a small smile.

"Your girlfriend eh?" He said, while Julio chocked on his spit.

"No, sir. Just a friend." Julio quickly responded, his eyes on the pouch of coin he had in his hand.

"Just a friend?" Mr. Finley said while giving him the bill to read it. The older man chuckled while fiddling with his white mustache.

"You could've just said, 'not yet'." He said, making Julio look up from the bill.

Julio widened his eyes. "Excuse me?!" He exclaimed, looking at Mr. Finley in shock as he processed the words 'not yet' in his mind.

"My wife and I were like that. We were oh, so in denial." Mr. Finley said while receiving the money from Julio.

"I don't understand, sir." The brunette said while waiting for his change that Mr. Finley was taking out of from his cashier.

Mr. Finley chuckled and handed him his change. "You'l understand soon enough, my dear boy."

The old man then stretched and cracked his bones, groaning.

"Better appreciate every second you have with this girl."

Julio blinked.

"Or you'll regret it." He said while looking at a black and white photo with Mr. Finley when he was younger, and a woman who was smiling beside him.

Julio's eyes softened. "Okay, thanks for having us, Mr. Finley."

The teen then placed his change in his wallet, stuffing it in the pockets of his backpack and walking out the door to Ellie.

Mr. Finley looked out the window to the two teens who were talking and then leaving together.

He sighed and rested his cheek on his palm.
