Ellie laid her head down on her soft pillow and laid down there for a brief moment before sighing through her nose. She used her toes to pick on her MacBook which was on her bed and dragged in close to her tired body.
She was tired and weak. The short girl had spent her entire weekend doing chores around the B&B, covering her shift for Andrew who ditched her to visit his boyfriend again, and she was the one who had to cook dinner for the 8 people living in the house.
"Fucking, Andrew left me to do my shitty job alone! 4 HOURS OF WORK IS ENOUGH YOU MOTHERFUCKER, WHY LEAVE ME TO DO 8?!"
"STOP YELLING, AFTER YOU'VE WOKEN UP IN THE AFTERNOON!" Mrs. Amaya shouted from downstairs. Ellie heard the sizzling of the eggs in the frying pan from downstairs.
Ellie huffed and opened her MacBook aggressively, turning it on by smashing the button while grumbling under her breath.
A sticker from the back of the laptop screen fell out and landed on her soft, pink blanket that she got for her 13th birthday.
Ellie calmed down her fast beating heart from her frustration that caused her to shout and laid on her bed, her head hitting the soft pillow.
She glanced at the sticker without a second thought and peeled the small sticker off her blanket, the sticky residue still stuck on the bed sheets.
Ellie touched the stickyness mindlessly and placed her forefinger and thumb together, playing with the sticky feeling.
She suddenly was hit with a rush of melancholy, her heart silently aching as she turned to flip the sticker around, fumbling around with the sticky back part of it.
The sticker was a mini astronaut, with thick line art surrounding the astronaut's figure. The mini astronaut gave a thumbs up and behind it had a flag which had the words boldly written #1 DAD.
Ellie smiled fondly for a bit before hearing the yells of Mrs. Amara towards someone she heard from downstairs but didn't recognise.
She shook her head and chuckled before sticking back the astronaut sticker back onto the laptop before shutting it.
"What was I gonna do with it again?" She spoke softly, thinking, but it wasn't really her strong sort. "Eh, I'll try to remember it later."
Ellie placed back the MacBook back on her wooden study desk before stretching her arms, popping a few joints before wobbling her arms like an octopus.
"Ahhhh, that hit the spot..."
She then opened her door and went downstairs, but someone stopped her.
"Hey, kiddo. Where 'ya going?" A low and gruff voice was heard from the end of the hall, and Ellie immediately knew who it was.
From the corner of her eye, she saw a tall man with dirty blond hair wearing a college sweatshirt and basketball shorts. He had these ocean blue eyes identical to Ellie and even the way they present themselves were the same. Strong and firm.
Ellie gave a big smile that showcased her not so pearly white teeth and walked over to him lazily before giving him a big hug.
She rested her head on his shoulder before muttering out a muffled greeting.
"Hi, dad."
Ellie's dad gave a strong squeeze back at his daughter before chuckling wholeheartedly and ruffling the strawberry blonde girl's hair.
"Hey, hey. What's the big rush?" He asked, crossing his rather buff looking arms. Ellie gulped and felt intimidated and scratched her head awkwardly.
