"So," Julio began, scratching the nape of his neck awkwardly. He adjusted the rear-view mirror and looked back at the front.
Julio, was ordered by his mom to send Ellie back home in his cool car that Ellie thought he looked cool while driving.
The said girl leaned forward from the back seat and rested her chin on the the front seat.
"Is your dad gonna be home?" Julio asked.
Ellie sighed. "Nope, not at this hour, he comes home at 12pm ish, so I only really get to have a good conversation with him during the weekends."
Julio frowned and gripped his hands on the steering wheel, his knuckles turning white. "That's sad. I mean, not sad, but, you know.."
He looked at her reflection in the mirror and saw her sitting there awkwardly, clearly uncomfortable talking more about her family.
Should her continue?
He felt like he shouldn't.
He's a chess player, he needs to be patient.
But this isn't chess.
This is a bubbly girl who has a big, thick wall that he can't get through.
Sure, she likes flirting with all her extravagant pursuing but he didn't like this space between them.
He wants to know.
But not now.
Julio gulped and shifted the gear, looking at Ellie from the rear-view mirror again.
"Y-You don't have to tell me more about it though," He said, looking at the road. "I kinda know the gist of it so you can tell me when you're ready."
Ellie widened her eyes and flushed a light pink hue.
Julio was worried about her.
She didn't expect that.
But she did, since it was normal.
The strawberry blonde girl cleared her throat and leaned lazily on the seat.
"When I'm ready, you say~" She slurred wiggling her eyebrows.
Julio scoffed playfully. "Get your mind out of the gutter."
After a few moments, they arrived at Ellie's 'home', a small residential area with apartments, and Julio noted it looked pretty cozy.
He parked his car at the side of the road swiftly as Ellie was jealous since she failed her driver's license test two times in a row.
Ellie and Julio exited his car, and he locked it with his car key which is connected to his house key with the Captain America key chain.
He looked at the building more closely, the building was at the other street of a residential area that were littered with shops.
The houses were in between the cozy shops and he realised the street was called Baker's street, the street where Ellie and Julio went when they visited Ciel's Cafe.
He was going to walk to the building at the other side of the street until Ellie pulled his arm and dragged him to the shops.
Ellie pulled him to the bakery and she opened it, the wooden sign that said 'Open' knocking slightly against the glass window,
The bakery was Amaya Bakery & BnB, much to Julio's amazement. They entered the bakery, a whiff of freshly baked bread entered his nose.
'Smells so good.'
